As some of you may recall, there's been an expedition planned for some time now. However, between rapid world changes and the recent silence of its proposer, we've yet to set a date for departure.

The destination is a place on the map called Lastlook, of which a painting was found in the room hidden deep in the Insolitus. Aradia Megido has been organizing this trip, but another troll [she didn't catch your name, Kanaya] informed us she was quite unconscious. Should she not regain consciousness soon, I'll be happy to take over whatever organization she has already planned. The trip is expected to take two or three weeks, as much of it is to take place outside the powered zone. I would strongly recommend bringing a mount on this trip, and as it appears to be a, er, seaport, it wouldn't hurt to have some skill with watercraft as well.

If anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to answer what I can.

It may still be on display on the upper floor of the western outpost, if you'd like to take a look. Many of the objects we found in that room had unique abilities, though I don't know if that one's power was ever discovered.

I just may look for myself. We have no indication of the origins of these objects, I gather? [A painting of a place seems rather like a hint. The place is important to someone. Or someone wants them to think it is, for whatever reason. And...after a moment of thought, she adds a filter.]

I know many do not wish to discuss the events of the past week and I will, of course, respect your wishes if you are among them. But, I will confess, it has given me cause for thought. I was the youngest of the children of Finarfin and the only daughter. If it is not too bold, I would say that I would have been proud to have a sister such as you.

A few objects were marked with the brand "Genutech", which has some significance to us. John Hammond is a man we met on a place called Isla Nubla several years ago, creator of a strange park run by Genutech full of giant reptilian creatures. He boarded the boat with us back to Paradisa but never seemed to arrive - until a drawing of one of those same creatures, found by him, appeared in a world change several months later. He was our first clue that these world changes were somehow connected - and is apparently of the First Generation, a leader of sorts.

That's...very kind of you. As for family, I'm told I have a brother, but I'm afraid the only memories I have left of him are from the brief time he spent here in Paradisa with me. [Deliberately not mentioning her parents.] So this was rather a unique experience for me, and not an unpleasant one.

Do you know, it's still difficult for me not to think of a journey as a perfectly normal thing to do once in a while? I suppose the culture has more hold on me than I realize, even when I know the doctrine is false.

I know I need not tell you to be cautious. That Lastlook has some significance to the First Generation is plain, as is their dislike of our intrusions.

I am glad it did not discomfort you overmuch. [She's not oblivious to the half-elf/elf tension, after all, whatever she may pretend.] It has been long since I have experienced such things. I am the last of my siblings to remain.

Huh. It's not surprising, the doctrine can be pretty hard to shake when you've heard it all your life. [He still struggles with it sometimes and he's known about Cruxis since he was 14] That being said, the journey part is one part I can't argue with!
