[If you were in the lobby earlier today, you may have noticed Jane staring at the room list in the lobby for quite some time, holding a plate of something really delicious and looking more upset by the minute. She fled the lobby, ran back up to her room, and slammed the door, which caused her journal to topple over and open just in time for it to catch these words:]

Gosh dang it! I missed him, he left and I waited too long and...gosh dang it to heck!!!!

[Clatter of a plate, scrape of a chair...and then a groan.]

It tastes perfect, too...oh, geez...

[Care to surprise Jane by speaking up?]

[There's a surprised yelp and a sound that is suspiciously similar to someone almost falling out of their chair. Then-]

Oh, sugar, the journal heard that?!?

[He wasn't at the lobby but he does catch those angry words.]

[She still can't believe that got spread around the castle!]

A friend of mine from home...I, I never even got to properly talk to him...Oh, this is embarrassing...

I know it happens, I've...seen entries about it on the journals, but...how do I put this? Er...I would rather have made it known when I wasn't so frazzled!!

[He scratches his cheek lightly.]

Aha, I haven't seen any of my friends from home since I got here a month ago...

[She chuckles weakly at that.] I've seen that, as well.

[She sighs and takes another bite of pie. She won't talk while she's eating though - that's impolite! - so it takes a moment for her to respond.]

[She puts a little emphasis on the "friend" part as if the word leaves a funny taste in her mouth.]

...I don't think I will. It just...really smarts right now. There was something particular I wanted to discuss with him, and my last attempt went over horribly, so I wanted to do it right this time.
