[He's only just arrived in this place earlier in the day, but it's far easier for him to not snap out and react. That doesn't get one very far when he can sense magic after all and it's that alone that makes him pause.

Eventually though he does pick up the journal and flops down onto his bed and addresses it. For the moment all he can do is ask questions right?

Better to see who he all knows is around.

Even if he is irked that his travel time was ruined by a castle.]

In all my years I have never seen a place such as this and yet I doubt even Camelot will attain such, presence [That's the best he's got to explain the castle.] even though it is legendary.

Which prompts me to ask is there anyone here from Camelot or Castle Pendragon? [He hadn't looked hard at the journal when he looked, just enough to get his feet on the ground.] And is there anything I should be warned of about this place? [He could guess by the journal but it never hurts to hear from those in it right?]

[You should feel super lucky that Arthur's taking some time to pay attention to the journal, for anything of note. He's definitely the best way to be introduced to the castle!

I am from Camelot, though there's no Castle Pendragon. [Or rather they're one in the same. His father didn't bother with more than on residence]

What do you know of it?

[Oh he feels lucky really. Because someone knows of Camelot and okay no wait...Had Arthur stripped it of it's name? That wouldn't be surprising as no Pendragon lived in it any longer, Morgan stripped of her title.

So okay no this isn't a shock.]

I was recently there and aided Arthur in his building of it. [Kinda sorta ish.] I'm Merlin, who are you?

[Because if he was honest he was a bit of a big shot there yup.]

[ The first thing she notes is that she does not recognize this voice though it speaks of Camelot and her family name. Did Arthur pick up another stray? No, even she can see that Arthur does not know this mysterious voice.

And Castle Pendragon? There is no such thing within the kingdom. ]

Who are you to speak of Camelot?

[No he certainly did not pick up another stray. More like Merlin picked up a stray. A really annoying if well meaning one.

And well honestly is he going to just go around in this eternal circle with you people?

Really?]

I'm the reason it's inhabited who are you to know of it? [He's just being pissy don't mind him.]

[Arthur for his part, snorts. This is clearly someone who didn't do their homework. Someone who doesn't know of the state of his residence, doesn't recognize him (admittedly on voice alone) and claims to be someone that Arthur clearly would be able to recognize anywhere]

Arthur Pendragon. You might wish to be assured of who you're speaking to, before you claim to be something you are not. Camelot was built long before I was born, and has needed only minor repairs during my life time.

[But nice try] Now who are you really?

[ A daughter of Camelot, the Lady Morgana, Uther's bastard child. Only one of those is correct, she is no longer of Camelot, it has been lost to her as the rest of her former life. ]

I have lived in Camelot my entire life, I know it as well as I know my own hand. [ He can be pissy all he likes. She'll be pissy right back. ]

[And this is someone who should know him and clearly has his castles mixed up. Maybe all that fresh air finally got to Arthur while he was gone.]

And maybe you should learn your history. Yes Camelot itself was built before your lifetime but you now rule it, repaired it for your people.

And I already told you. [Did you hit your head?] I'm Merlin.

[And yet only one of those would he recognize in a fashion. The others don't exist in his time, at least not at the time of her birth.]

And yet I would say that is impossible except things seem to be that here in spades. [Like dragging him here in the first place.] Are you with the other one or is there another Camelot that I should be made aware of?

[HOW MANY CAMELOTS ARE THERE? And how many have man-children for Arthur's?]

I'm well aware of my position is King, and I assure you, the citadel is impenetrable and needed no such repairs.

[Their take overs really just needed to repair the towns, mostly. With a few other odds and ends needing fixing, he thinks he would remember if it was something else]

I know Merlin, and you're certainly not him. He's much more of an idiot and yet still wouldn't bother making such claims.

[ She inhales, old angers stirring at the thought of placing herself with Arthur of all people. ]

If things here are to be believed, there are many Camelots. But fret not, the one Arthur Pendragon speaks of is the one I called home. [ But she cannot call it such any longer. ]

Now, I would have you tell me who you are.

And yet the last I recall we had only just repaired it after -

And yet is this your castle I'm sitting in? I assure you sir my name is in fact Merlin and I only recently saw you become the true king of the realm. [We're not mentioning your sister.]

[Well he's sorry he's not exactly aware of public opinion on Morgana in her Camelot.

And now there's something. That's, well more understandable.] And yet I have an Arthur Pendragon in my own Camelot, but I know which you speak of. [Ugh stupid magic castle.]

My name is Merlin, and now I ask the same.

Merlin? [ She laughs, disbelief evident. This man, Merlin? The castle certainly has a strange sense of humor bringing yet another Merlin into it's thrall. ]

I am Morgana. [ Pendragon. ]

It isn't. It's Cair Paradisa, a castle in a world of it's own, far from any you or I come from. You might know that if you'd bothered to read your journal. That is partly after all, why it is there.

My coming into the throne recently is the only fact you've gotten correct so far.

And yet he sounds rather disbelieving.]

[ So far? Yes. But that is another story all together. ]

No, I have only one sister named Morgause and she is dead. [ Morgan, of the legends she imagines, or something close. The woman she had once refused to ever become. ]

That's what I thought. [He doesn't sound amused at all.] And I did read the journal, thank you though for informing that it is correct in that regard.

And wonderful, though it appears that if a castle can take us from our world, [Okay that sounds weird...] whose to say we even live in the same Camelot?

[Yes well she's better then her similar person in his own Camelot for the moment. He's rather sure this will end either well or horribly.]

Interesting. [He's not sure what to make of the sister angle as he's certain Uther only had the two but.] Any other siblings?

[At least he's being delicate?]

And then you know of losses? And the changes done to the world?

[Yeah he knows, he's just...Not very good at dealing with the concept that there are other versions of him. So don't mind that he sounds completely flat]

It's more likely that we don't. It's not unusual here, though I've rarely dealt with the matter.

[A pause] I still recommend that you stop speaking to the woman that you've currently engaged in conversation, regardless of the Camelot you hail from.

[scinlae]

A brother. [ She doesn't see the point in hiding such things, regardless of how she feels about her family. ] You've already spoken to him.

[Oh that's really helpful Arthur. But he'll take what he can get.] Only what little I've read in the journal, if you would like to share then I would hardly say no to it.

[And oh no what's this about? Her and him and ah. Okay. he gets this. Because he's pretty sure he knows why if only by the way they're both acting.]

If she's anything like the woman with a similar name from my own Camelot, I will tell you that I am rather well versed in dealing with her type by this point. [That doesn't help but it's something.]

There is the permanent one, that is your price for being held here. It can be quite literally anything, but it is always important. It can take a long time to discover what it is.

[Ah, well that's both good and...Kind of disheartening, to think that in every possible world, it goes just like this in all of them. Except he doubts she bothers to claim her regret in them]

Well versed or not, I wouldn't trifle with her. [This time it sounds less like a recommendation or a suggestion, and sounds more like a subtle order]

I see. [Nope not saying much else on that.] So then things are different and yet the same, how wonderful.
