[002] but oh my love don't forsake me;

[Filtered as far away from England/Arthur Kirkland as she can make it.]

[It's all written because she doesn't trust her voice so much, because really nothing shakes her... except this. This is a thing she has no word for. Her usual neat and precise hand writing is a hastily mess.]

Forgive me if this sounds like lunacy, and troubling those here with such a thing, but I have tried to reason this out and I cannot seem too... find an answer by myself. I'm at my wits end with it.

Has anyone had someone appear that... knows them. I understand my own title goes before me, and that many of you know me purely through text and later writings. You can never claim to know me personally. I mean... has someone ever appeared to you, and known you so completely. Spoken of things that you will never speak of to another, claimed things that are... well, your secrets in point of fact. Only you have never seen this person, you have no memory of them. Not a single thing. From their name to their title.

I know literally nothing of this man. And what he claims otherwise is... he claims to be my country. My England. I cannot fathom such a thing lest it is a trick. It would be a sick one at the very least, given that I am myself married to my country, to give me a husband when I have neither need nor want of one.

Does anyone at all know anything of this? Anything at all. I have been told that people do have their memories removed.

Another one of those, huh? There was some bloke a few months back who claimed to be Italy.

It's entirely possibly that he's from some world where the countries of the world have physical bodies. I know it doesn't make sense, but such is the way of things here, as I'm sure you've noticed.

That's strange. Admittedly. [A sigh, a bit of a pause.] But I am sure if talking ponies and large red men exist, then why not anthropomorphisms of countries?

I've never heard of someone actually being the personification of a country, but similar things happen where I'm from. Personifications of ideas made flesh.

That sounds like quite the elaborate attempt to drag you beneath the sheets. A stalker, perhaps?
kalinda: (Would work out just fine)

My condolences. [A breath.] There are many who know how to get inside your head around here. If anything, one's secrets are what the castle itself enjoys playing with.
kalinda: (But I'm better now)

We're one and the same then, in that regard. This place has taken a lot more from me than I would have liked-- and I'm sure this is only the beginning.

Oh, a queen is it? [ Guess that explains the weird 'married to country' commentary. But a queen without a king is something she's familiar with and can definitely get behind. ]

Well than all the more reason that a man would try to take advantage of it. Even when not in her own country, a proper queen commands power and grace wherever she walks. Which is exactly why you ought to teach such a brazen fool a lesson.

I assume none from your court are here with you? Or were you lucky enough to bring friends?
kalinda: (And you never showed)

[personal profile] kalinda 2012-09-12 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a short, subdued chuckle at that.] You're taking this a lot better than most.

Wow. [You can tell by her tone that's a lot less sarcastic than she'd usually say it.] You've got one hell of a backstory. I'd say you're more than prepared to face whatever comes your way around here.

How unfortunate. You must be lonely.

[Oh, well dang. Katniss's lips press together.]

Yes - probably not as much as a Queen - but I thought that was the cost of being a celebrity. People knowing things about your life that you'd rather not know about yourself.

[Her lips pressed even further together.] You ... going to be okay? Need to have this guy, you know, kept away?
hedonic: (i guess that sometimes we both)

The pleasure of another lady's company is an often undervalued stress reliever. Although I can't really say I ever participated in the noble court life, I am familiar with working intimately for a queen and her subjects.

But, then, whims are whims.
