Hello. My name is Kalinda Sharma. However, you might have only known me as "Leela Tahiri". I'm filtering to you all because I have since changed my name, and while none of are nothing more than acquaintances by way of an unfortunate loss, I'll have to ask you to not call me that. I would also appreciate it not becoming public knowledge either. Thanks.

[With that out of the way, Kalinda's staring the journal idly. She doesn't particularly like broadcasting herself in this thing, but she sure likes scouring it for information! And you know, idle chatter.]

This place never ceases to surprise me-- and this is coming from someone who was rarely surprised back home. People are often predictable, and read easily at that. As different as we all seem to be, it's oddly strange how there are more similarities than one might think. There's just these universal truths... I guess here, they literally transcend universes.

Not to give in to the philosophical, by any means.

That being said, I have to ask what it is about this place that has surprised you the most. Be it the company we're sharing or what this place is capable of. Whatever. I'd hate to be caught off guard by the next extraneous circumstance.

Waking up as a dragon was a bit surprising.

But I feel I've gotten so close to Leela. Who is this Kalinda you speak of? She is not my true...clubbing love. [ Ahahah if there is one modern word she pulled from that loss it is clubbing. Go figure. ]

Was it anything like the made for TV movie?

Sometimes I wonder if this castle is just one giant extra-dimensional psych ward. I'm pretty sure ninety-eight percent of us here wouldn't get away with a clean bill of mental health.

So long as you keep that theory in mind, it's a lot harder to be surprised by anything that goes on here.

I can only imagine.

I wouldn't be surprised. Appendages you've never utilized before? A considerably different form? I'd think it would be awkward to get used to any of it.

[It's interesting how you worded this, Ecchi. She bites her lip, allowing for a stifled sigh before she continues writing.]

That's too bad for the rest of us. She was fun. Does Kalinda know anything about that?

Mmmn. Walking wasn't that hard, but gettin' used to a neck nearly as long as body is weird... [ And give him a moment, because he realized that sentence didn't make much sense after he said it.

Or did it make sense. Now he's confused... ]

I'm attempting to desensitize it by imagining everything I've seen in movies and television and read in books coming together in one single place. Whatever I've soaked up in media is the normality here and I shouldn't be surprised if, say, it rains meatballs or there's a race of mole people beneath the world's crust.

[That's good that she's good. It makes everything all the more interesting.]

Tries. Such an old story. Humans are always trying so hard to forget... To not experience pain. But what good is a life with dulled senses and subpar experiences?

When you try too hard to escape the pain, you usually end up avoiding pleasure along your way.

You're in another realm now. This life is so new you might as well take on a third name, and introduce her to life's more unique pleasure...or at least relish in the good old-fashioned methods.

Someone spoke of throwing a party.

I'd rather indulge in what I can, without the aid of whatever powers this castle bestows on all of us. I don't need anything terribly extravagant other than being without the stressors from home.

[Though she misses the second chance with Alicia, at least she wasn't around any more to delve deeper into the secrets of her past!]

I'm not talking about what the castle forces on us.
