Vongola XI -- Action

[Now that things have settled down once more, Tsuna's at the woods' edge, dagger in hand. He stands there for a moment, seizing up his opponent (a formidable one, at that-- a sturdy-trunked tree), before he runs forward, slashing at the tree-- only to let go of the dagger, letting it fly into his other hand.

That was the idea, anyway.

But he misjudges the toss and the handle whips past his fingers, and the blade sinks into another trunk. The boy gives a light sigh as he walks over.]

I've been practicing some of your techniques for weeks, Yamamoto, and I still can't get them right most of the time. And yet you managed to master them all after seeing them only once...

Gao?

[After taking out the dagger, Tsuna comes over to Natsu and kneels down, patting his head.]

Yeah... I miss them a little, too, buddy. But, we've already been here for four months. So we'll... probably be heading home soon.

Gao...

[Tsuna gives a small frown at the box weapon. He'd missed his friends and family at home, certainly... but honestly, Paradisa had turned out to be a lot better than he thought it'd be. And he'd made new friends here, too. How strange... he wasn't sure whether or not he even wanted to leave.]

--huh? Oh, hey, Arya.

[persequor]

[ She glances down at the little beast. ]

Is that a lion?

[not_mafia]

Sort of. Natsu's what's called a box weapon.

[Natsu looks at Arya and tilts his head.] Gao?

[persequor]

What does that mean?

[not_mafia]

Um, well, it basically means he's an animal who can turn into a weapon. --or, uh, a weapon in the form of an animal, I guess. [Tsuna scratches him behind his ear.]

[persequor]

You've a lion weapon.

[not_mafia]

Yes? [Is she going somewhere with this??]

[persequor]

If it becomes a sword, you're like to ruin it too if you smash it against a tree.

[not_mafia]

Oh, um... he doesn't turn into a sword.

[persequor]

What does he do?

[heal_theworld]

[Martel hears him talking to what sounds like a small animal from the garden and goes to investigate just what he is doing. From the loud 'thunks' he's throwing something sharp at a tree trunk.]

Throw it hard enough and you won't be able to get it out.

[not_mafia]

He can turn into a few different things. The only thing that's really a weapon, though, is a gauntlet.

[persequor]

Gauntlets aren't weapons. [ They'll hurt like a bitch if hit with them, but the same can be said for a helm. Neither are weapons. ]

[not_mafia]

... why aren't they?

[not_mafia]

[He starts a little at the voice, looking over, blinking at Martel a few times.

It takes him a few seconds to successfully convince himself that she is, in fact, alive and well, and not dead. That was a vivid dream, okay?]

Ah... that's not really what I was trying to do.

[persequor]

They're a part of armor. They're for protection. Have you seen a gauntlet?

[heal_theworld]

Well, obviously. But what were you trying to do?

[not_mafia]

Well, yeah, but can't it be both?

[persequor]

No.

[not_mafia]

It's called Early Summer Rain. It's part of a sword-fighting style called Shigure Soen Ryu. You're supposed to act like you're going to slash at your opponent from one side, and trade hands at the last second and get them from the other side.

[not_mafia]

Why not?

[persequor]

Because it's not meant to be a weapon. Unless you think that because it's hard and it'll hurt if you're hit with it it should be one. Because then everything is a weapon. I could kill you with a rock.

[not_mafia]

[wow please don't??]

I don't think something has to be made for attacking to be a weapon, though.

[persequor]

That's the definition of a weapon. Something made to cause harm. And you're going to ruin yours if you continue sticking it into the tree.
