[ There was a lot that Helen hadn't, and wouldn't forget. This was one of those things, in some ways. Caring for a child? She had the memories, remembered her experiences and thankfully knew that each time was different - she'd had to care for and raise Ashley and Henry in very different manners. Overseeing some of the younger abnormals of her patients landed somewhat in that also. What she hadn't expected though? James himself.

She wasn't complaining, nor giving up - he was different (and it would certainly give her something to mention to him after this was over) and she hadn't quite thought as to what he may have been like. And no, Maladict, you are not right - she's just... a little out of practice ]

[Different was probably the polite way to put it. James could tell her stories about what his mother had said about him as a child, and well, at this point he would take those over well this.

Because this included sitting in front of the refrigerator, door open, and attempting to take everything out of it, pausing occasionally to look at something and trying to figure out what it is. He may also be looking for soda too, but he won't admit that.]

[ She'd been gone for two minutes, or possibly not even that. She'd still been in her room although a different part of it looking for something. It hadn't taken her long to find it but apparently was long enough for him to do... this ]

[ She may have been calling him Jimmy on request but to scold (or at least sharply get his attention) she wouldn't. And no, she was not amused with this ]

What exactly are you doing?

[He's quick really when he wants to be! The amount of food and things on the floor is testament to that.

And being called James, well that got him to scowl. But it didn't stop him, he just kept working on removing things from the refrigerator before sticking his head inside it.]

Trying to figure out how this works! And don't call me James!

And you couldn't have done so by asking? [ And she certainly will call you James if she likes ]

What's the fun in that? And besides, not like you'd tell me all about it anyway. [And no she won't as he's going to ignore it now, still looking inside of it like it's the coolest thing ever.] Besides, how do I know you know how this works huh?

I could certainly tell you more than what you'd find by looking. [ And he can ignore her all he likes, but it won't get him anywhere ]

Oh yeah? [He's fiddling with a package now, thinking. This is a hard choice okay?] Like what?

How it works, its function. More information than the book that came with it would say. [ Not that there'd been one when she'd wished it up but it made her point ]

What book that came with it? [Yes he's totally paying attention now Helen. What have you been hiding?]

There are instruction books, guides that come with most things that you can get.

Oh, that's, kind of cool. So what's it say about them? Like how does it work?

There's a component known as a heat pump which transfers the heat from inside of the fridge to the external environment as to keep the interior cooled.

[unnaturalpause]

[And he's leaving the door open now to start looking around on the outside to see if he can see these things, sighing.]

You do, and you are not. [ Really, leaving the door open for this long? As well as ruining everything he's taken out is not doing nice things for her fridge ]

Aww but why not? [Yeah well he had to look Helen, he did. And he had no shame either in this.] I mean, it's just, really cool! Look at it!

As you would no doubt be unable to return it to its current condition. [ And no, that is not a challenge to try ]

It is something that you will have to trust me on. [ She is not mentioning that she knows you ]

Why's that? Why not just tell me? [She could lie, he'd be alright with that.]

Because it is a longer story than I am prepared to go into. [ And one not for his ears ]
