Is there anywhere here that isn't absolutely frigid now? As pretty as it is.

[Despite the attempt at humor, he sounds absolutely miserable. The idea of snow and ice is nice but when you're underweight and used to temperate climates the reality is not so nice. He is currently in his room, huddled in as many blankets as he can be and still open the journal. And he's still cold.]

Well, I'm working on something, but it's anyone's guess whether it will work without melting half the castle.

I haven't checked, but are a few places outside of the castle that might have escaped these effects. There are two outposts you can transport to, in addition to the location inside the Dead Zone called Mineas Well. Failing that, you could try the Seasons Room. A few days of the week it resembles a small beach.

Oh, it shouldn't kill anyone. ...I don't think anyway. It's a bit hard to get the magic quite right when everything's made of ice

I can see how that'd be troublesome. I'd start a fire in here if I didn't think it'd melt right through the floor.

Yeah, on the third floor. It alternates between the beach and some snowy place, but I guess we don't need more cold right now.

I should say not. Is the beach usually warm?

Quite. Sometimes I see people tanning there.

I'd probably get a sunburn, but that's better than freezing, I think.

It's not like you have to sit directly in the sun until that happens for real. [oops, just going with the assumption of him not actually knowing what he is doing here]

Oh, it would probably put itself out, first... although that does give me an idea. Maybe I can simply charm something to be fire resistant, and work from there...

All else fails, harass a passing penguin for an extra blanket?

There is, unfortunately, a limit to how many blankets one can have and still do anything other than sit.
