[Micheletto is in the kitchen.

He is sort of exploring all this crazy fresh produce you lot have access to in the castle, in particular puzzling over the New World/future stuff (what is a potato, etc). There are vegetables and fruit spread out on the counters and table. At the moment, he's not really bothering with any of that though, too busy poking at one of the nutcrackers that had found its way in here.

He eyes the journal he has laid out on the counter for a second, then swats the tomato sitting on it to the floor and opens it up.

Talking to a book is really strange and odd, so he writes instead.]

What is the purpose of these wooden dolls?

[... staring at a book and waiting for a magical response is also bizarre, so he sets it down and goes back to playing with the nutcracker.]

[ Alice picks up an apple and rubs it against her sleeve before taking a bite. She'll be watching him with some disinterest, first. ]

[ She stops chewing enough to think, then holds up the half-eaten apple in question, mouth full. ]

[He glances up briefly, then goes back to this wooden doll. Why can you move its jaw, he doesn't understand...]

[ Alice raises her eyebrows once, before swallowing and setting her apple down. ]

It cracks nuts.

[He absently places his finger in the thing's mouth, looking up at her again.]

It's inconvenient. Too big, yes?

[ She plays with the apple, twirling it around on the table and watching that nutcracker. ]

It is also ornamental. And persuasive.

[He nods at the journal nearby.]

Another writing in this book tells me it is for frustration and embarrassment. What is it meant to persuade?

[ Alice smirks at the journal. ]

I could show you.

[He looks at her sceptically for a moment, trying to discern if she's mocking him somehow. Deciding she isn't, he simply sets the nutcracker down and nods at it, folding his arms and taking a step back.]

[ Alice slips down from her chair and circles round the table toward the nutcracker, looking his way before reaching to pick it up. That look on her face says too clearly that she's up to something... ]

what's that? you want to smooch a queen?

[emboldens]

[ Having just entered the kitchen, mostly with the intent of surprising Merlin with cocoa, she pauses near the cabinet upon seeing that she is not alone.

Also, what an impressive spread of produce you have there, sir. Ever mindful of manners, Igraine smiles and bows her head slightly. ]

[Micheletto isn't very bothered. He has a dagger tucked in this doublet right where his hand is resting, after all.

Eyebrows raised, he looks on.]

[Micheletto glances up and quickly surmises by her bearing that she's some sort of nobility. Inclining his head slightly, he then goes back to turning over this banana in his hand curiously.]

My lady.

[emboldens]

Are you as lost as I?

[ Smile lingering she approaches the fridge, which she brushes her fingers against, followed by doing the same to the microwave's handle. ]

When it comes to these? And I daresay, that. [ A nod is direction to the nutcracker. ] I imagine it is a decoration of sorts, but I do not think I would ever acquire one.

[He gestures at the fridge.] That is to keep things cold, though I do not know what mechanism chills the inside.

[He figured out that much -- that's where he pilfered all these fruits and vegetables from, after all. He glances at the nutcracker when she does.]

A pagan decoration, I think.

Is that the source of your collection?

[ She will have to ask Merlin about that later but, for now, the nutcracker has her attention. ]

They each have different faces, I wonder if their varied appearances hold further meaning. Or perhaps I am over thinking it.

[ Meanwhile, Anne will just be standing just outside the doorway to the expansive kitchen and glancing in at all the strange devices like she just walked into a torture chamber.

Oh well. Not her problem.

So then she'll be looking at him expectantly. Well? Make her something to eat already, servant! ]

[ She cradles the doll like a little child and fiddles with its mouth as she comes closer. ]

Here, see. Though this one is more decorative.

[He nods. There is a lot more food in there, but he figured out what most of it was already.]

This is the first I've paid attention to, my lady. I am no student of antiquity; perhaps there is one here who understands better than me.

[Micheletto is in the process of peeling an orange, which he had some passing knowledge about, but had never handled one himself. He glances up when this woman strolls in and just kind of stares at him.

He stares back. Nobility...] Yes, my lady?

[He ventures a step closer, keeping his arms crossed, and inclines his head a bit to get a better look.]

[ She's quick to correct, and only slightly surprised to find herself able. There lies a loophole, perhaps because it could be easily confused as an address to him, but it's not really enough to appease her. She still can't say that she herself is a queen, or say anything else, but hope he understands.

He may not look like nobility, but he doesn't look stupid, either. ]

I would have something to dine on. Are you the resident cook?
