[So guess what's in the journal today? Yep, it's that familiar writing again...]

Shame on you people!

Why? Why would you not listen to me? How can you put your friends and families in danger like this? Do you even care? Even my species, in all their stubborn belligerence, cares for their kin.

You are all so very selfish.

Looks like I will have to find some other method of convincing you. What a bother.

Well, until that time comes, I think I will throw you a bone: ask, and I will answer your questions. In fact, a little conversation may do us all some good.

Mr. Triton, no worse for wear I assume? Everyone else, good? Then ask away.

I'm not sure you realize how very non-threatening this sounds.

Then you need to really work on your letter writing.

[she will highlight this section here:
'Looks like I will have to find some other way of convincing you.']

The other thing is that if you're actually implying that you have some sort of importance in this castle, providing us with this -- it's hardly proof of anything. From what I've read there have been countless people who have come to the castle, spoken with people through the journals, explained things about the castle and the world -- none have done it in this way.

[She's feeling short-tempered so she's just going to be sassy:]

I was re-watching this old series called Superheroes, the other week, when I was back at home. Heck, I even went to the trouble of buying a new copy of the first season, because the first disc kept skipping, to the point where it wouldn't even load the main menu without freaking out my DVD player. But anyway, the first season was really good, really top-notch stuff, but then in the second season it suddenly went downhill. By the third season... forget it. It was atrocious, the plotlines didn't make sense, they kept shoehorning that one actress back in as yet another character that didn't stick.

So I was wondering... if perfectly competent writers could write the first season to be really compelling and interesting and keep me kicking butts fast enough to get back in time to watch it at premiere time, why couldn't they do the same for the season season, and third?

That's my question.

The other is: did you learn this from a class? Villainy 101?

Because you suck at it.

[Pepper grabs a dictionary, look she has one and she looks up the word warning. She'll be transcribing that for him.]

warn·ing (wôrnng) n.
1. An intimation, threat, or sign of impending danger or evil.
2. a. Advice to beware. b. Counsel to desist from a specified undesirable course of action.
3. A cautionary or deterrent example.
4. Something, such as a signal, that warns.

[Dictated:] Unless wherever you're from defines it differently.

And what exactly is this supposed to be a warning against? Your future thoughts about how to handle us? Your ideas that seem as though they'll be as poorly worded as this one?

I've seen bad men do horrible things and I've seen the destruction and ruin they can bring, but this ... this is the most passive aggressive - it's almost whiny.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong.
