Wonderland: Day One

[wonderlandian]

The residents of Paradisa who ventured into the lobby on the 13th would find something new there; a mirror spanning an entire wall. Given recent happenings, who can blame them if they're cautious? Trouble is, this mirror seems to really want to bring people in, because you don't have to get too close before you're through the looking glass.

Once you've gone, you may find that you're not quite yourself.

[Notes/Reminders: Type 1 and Type 2 characters will believe they are Wonderland natives. All characters, including those not entering Wonderland, will be able to use their journals; Wonderland "natives" will think it is a communication device exclusive to Wonderland, although communication between Paradisa and Wonderland through the journals is absolutely possible. You may NPC any number of Tulgey Wood creatures, except for the Jabberwocky.]

[ She opens her mouth, only to close it again considering her words. Is she okay? In truth she has no idea, Wonderland has tipped her mind on itself and she is still shifting through the pieces. ]

[He quickly grabs up his fallen watch and trumpet, looking anxiously at Vanyel.]

I'm late, terribly late. I've been summoned and I'm late because of this blasted maze-- and, w-well, I don't want to think about what shall happen when I finally arrive.

[He scrambles to a stand.]

Would you, perhaps, have come from the exit, sir? Or the entrance? Or any distinguishable place at all?

[3nterprising]

Unless you want me to think of everything now.

[He watches her, considering]

Well, there's always time to work that out for yourself. It can't be rushed.

[wolfchild]

We'll get back soon. [ Castle may not be better, but at least she's more confident in telling apart plant from animal there. ]

[gottaknockhard]

[There's a scary notion.]

You make us sound like a team.

[scinlae]

[ She manages a smile, before she gets to her feet and joins them by the fire, tucking herself close. ]

Thank you. [ A beat. ] The both of you.

[3nterprising]

Well... why not be here? We have no idea where we are, and I'd rather not be all alone in a strange place like this.

[She thinks better of putting that in the form of a question. Something told her she wouldn't like the answer if she did. And hey. If she has to be lost, she'd rather do it with him. No matter how irritating he can be.]

[He offers her a small smile]

No worries. We all need a pick-me-up sometime.

[wolfchild]

[ Arya nudges Bunny. In a whisper that is still too loud: ] Give her an egg!

People paint the flowers? But why? And what is paint?

Frankly, I do not know where I came from, but I think I can help you find a way out, if you like me too.

[She looked at him with a steady gaze.]

It's not your fault I'm here, Spike. It's mine that you are.

[He watches her a moment, thinking. It feels strange to gain her trust again just because she can't remember. Then again, maybe he's reading into it too far.]

I'd enjoy it while you can. [He doubts they're alone. These things are never that easy.]

--don't know your way out?! Oh no, I'm doomed for sure!

[... Now that's an interesting twist.]

How do you mean?

[ They found her at the right moment, and she'll be more than thankful for that. Perhaps more than they will ever know.

It is better by the fire, she decides, much better by the fire. ]

[He glances at Arya, before smiling softly, placing a paw on the ground. A flower sprouts up, glowing lightly, before the petals open, revealing a small egg on a pair of spindly legs.

The egg hops off the flower and moves to Morgana, the legs vanishing as it gets close to her]

[ She blinks, obviously surprised by the display. ]

What is it? [ It's only a short moment that she hesitates before picking it up. ] An egg?

Eat it! It's good!

It's an Easter egg. I bring them to the world, but that's a freebie for you. You look like you could use it.

[And it will be delicious, exactly suited to her palette. Magic Easter bunny man]

[fantasies]

Paint is... [How do you explain paint.] It's color you put on stuff.

[3nterprising]

[She peers at him, an eyebrow raising. He sure had a way of cutting things short.]

Well, I'm trying.

... And you're creeping me out, you know that?

[Of course, she'd been too lazy to actually read the journal's history, but There was something about the way he spoke in general that felt like he was expecting the worst from every situation. Like everything would end.]

[gottaknockhard]

[He could get defensive about that remark, but instead he just adds to that feeling by being quiet. It could be a harmless mirror-world for all he knows. No reason to warn her about anything.]

I wonder if we could climb over the top. [--of the hedges, he means. Isn't it nice the way he always answers questions?]
