[It's beautiful morning! The sun is streaming through the windows -- well, the sun has just begun to rise, actually; Alleria wakes up at the crack of dawn because she is insane -- and the birds ... well, there are no birds in Paradisa, so they're not chirping. It's winter anyway.
But the point is, it's a lovely morning as Alleria rises from her sleep. She stretches her hands up to the ceiling, arching her back, and then slowly lowers them as she realizes she's not ... in Vereesa's quarters.
This room is much more rough-hewn, much more to her liking than Vereesa's soft touches of Dalaran. She frowns and looks around a bit more. But how did she ...
Oh. The journal picks up a quiet noise of recognition.]
Ah.
[That'd be it.]
Good morning, Alleyne.
[ooc. backdated to the morning of the 11th obviously!! feel free to react to anything over the journals if you'd like]

Oh. The journal picks up a quiet noise of recognition.]
Ah.
[That'd be it.]
Good morning, Alleyne.

...morning...Ergh, five more minutes...
[She rolls over to face Alleria without realizing, looking groggy and totally not ready to face this.]
no subject
Alleria just looked down at her brand new bedmate, and gave a quiet, slightly exasperated sigh.]
It's already light outside. Are you going to sleep all day, honestly? [it's like 5am]
no subject
Yeah, yeah, I'm up, what do you wa---
[It's just now starting to sink in. She clutches her blanket to her chest and blushes a bit, looking embarrassed as can be. Her tone shakes a tiny bit.]
Alleria? How did you? When?
no subject
Alleria doesn't really seem to notice Alleyne's modesty issues over there. She's seen worse than some breasts in her time, you know.
Shrugging, she gestures vaguely in the air.] Magic castle, I'd suspect. I'm not sure when; I've only just woken up ...
no subject
What does it want now? It's not going to have us raise a child together again, is it?
[Yes, of course her clothes are in the corner. She gets up and puts a blanket around herself, walking over.]
Let me make myself decent.
no subject
It doesn't appear as such. I don't see one, anyway.
[A pause ...]
Have you always had heart-shaped lanterns hanging from the ceiling? [YOU DON'T SEEM THE TYPE, ALLEYNE]
no subject
[Quickly snatching her usual outfit up and putting it on, grumbling, leaving boots and gloves off, wrapping her cape around her, hat sitting nearby.]
Eh? What are you talking about?
[She looks up and around, a startled look on her face. Oh dear gods.]
W-what is this? That disgusting holiday isn't for a few days yet!
no subject
Ah ... perhaps it's getting a head start. I wonder if the entire castle is decorated as such.
no subject
Besides, stuck with her. What if the castle forces her to confess? Or do anything? Then again, she's had centuries to practice ignoring her own feelings. This is just hard mode training for it.]
Maybe the journal's got record of people saying so. We can't be the only ones affected by such inconvenience. I could step out and scan the halls too, if you wanted.
[Anything to get out of this.]
no subject
Frowning, she gets up out of bed and begins to hunt around for a journal. She isn't naked, but she's dressed in a kind of gauzy nightgown. Nothing Alleyne hasn't seen before, naturally!]
Perhaps ...
no subject
Huh. Did I turn it the wrong way?
[She'll check again, turning both ways, tugging harder. Stupid door, when did you get to be so stubborn?]
Oh, come on already.
[After a bit of this, she raises her foot up and gives it a strong kick, only to be met with perfect resistance. Not good.]
...Tch. Figures.
no subject
Frowning, she comes up behind the other elf, cradling the book in her arms.]
We're locked in, aren't we.
no subject
[Trapped, with Alleria, at the castle's behest, for this holiday of all days.
What god did she piss off? Who decided she needed to face her ~true feelings~ like this? She slumps back down and tries to ignore how gaudy and pink everything is.]
Any word from the outside? This can't last forever. What's it expecting us to do, anyways? I...I refuse.
no subject
With a quiet grunt, she pulls her journal away from her chest and scans the pages for a few seconds in silence.]
Ah.
It would appear that others find themselves in the same predicament. It's early yet, so I would assume others will add their voices to the din soon enough. [She makes a face that suggests the other residents are lazy and complain too much.]
While we are here -- have you anything to eat? We can't go to the kitchens, it would seem, and I do not like to wish for food.
no subject
[She grumbles and yawns again, covering her mouth and looking around her shelves and the table. Offering food and being a gracious hostess was the least she could do. She's just hoping the castle doesn't do anything funny and make you ask her to feed you or some such.
After a bit she produces some fruit and jerky, sighing.]
It's not much. I think I have a bit of my leftovers somewhere, but I usually only make a day or two's worth of food at a time. The rest would be in the kitchen.
no subject
But they would cross that bridge when they reached it.
Alleria sighs a little exasperatedly -- not because of Alleyne or the fact that she doesn't stockpile food, but at the whole ridiculous situation in general.]
That will be fine. We will need to preserve our rations, in that case. "Wishing" will be for emergencies.
no subject
I don't need to eat much unless I'm training, and there's not enough space for me to exercise in here, so don't worry, take as much as you need.
[She tries to change the subject for now. Her acts of self-sacrifice and gallantry that are really just her being stubborn can wait.]
Do you not like wishing? I rarely do it myself nowadays, but I've run across some rather adamant attitudes against it here.
no subject
She scoffs a little and shakes her head at Alleyne's altruism, becuse my goodness, you! There's such a thing as being too gracious a host, you know!
But then she wrinkles her nose distastefully at the question about wishing.]
I will not use magic unless it is absolutely necessary. I am a ranger, not a mage.
no subject
[Then yeah, poor 5'3" Alleyne's clothes would be a bit too small and tight on you, and can she really afford that? She can't stare at the floor for a week.
May as well just up and ask.]
What do you think it expects us to do while it keeps us confined?
no subject
[She got a lotta opinions about magic. Let her tell you about the Sunwell.]
Hmmm. [A glance around at the decorations in the room.] Perhaps it wishes us to express our feelings for one another. Which is ridiculous, as we've already done that.
no subject
[Then she remembers that the main sources in her world are terrible holy milk, sexy holy poses, tentacle staves, and the Swamp Witch so it may be a good idea to concede your point.
Stupid sexy Gainos.]
...Though I think I see your point.
[You are the most stubborn! Geeze. So hard-headed, Alleria. No wonder you can't quite see when she flinches her ears at your next words, trying her best to stay even-voiced, scratching the back of her head.]
Y-yeah. It's really stupid if it thinks it's going to pull any secrets from us now. We're not that easy to crack open, anyways.
no subject
Alleria just arches her brow, shrugging.]
I don't know about that. Perhaps other people have been paired up for such a purpose.
In the meantime, we ought to eat something. And I should probably find something else to wear; this is too thin unless I'm under bedcovers. [Gesturing at her sleepclothes]
no subject
This isn't happening. By the gods, don't ask her to undress you or dress you. Her gaze holds a minute, quiet, looking slowly towards the wall instead, clearing her throat.]
I...Don't know if I have much that would fit you. You're welcome to look and take whatever. My room is yours for the next however long.
no subject
She finally settles on just wrapping herself in a cloak, that seems acceptable enough. So, she'll step into the other room to change.]
no subject
Actually, on second thought, don't try it right now.
While you get changed, she'll dig around for some tea, starting her fireplace and getting a pot of water on. She needs caffeine if she's going to deal with this.
There will be a cup for you waiting when you get out, her pulling out a notebook and glossing over it as she makes their drink, whispering to herself.]
It's going to be a long week.
no subject
Idly tossing her hair over her shoulder with a shake of her head, she takes another slow survey of the room before sighing and going for the tea.]
At least we are together. I can't imagine how awkward it would be if we were stuck with someone we didn't know. [BECAUSE THIS ISN'T AWKWARD AT ALL]
no subject
Or with someone wholly incompatible for whatever reason it may be. [Sort of like it already is. Sob. Castle you are getting such a chewing out after this one.]
no subject
"Incompatible" -- do you suppose the castle is attempting to play matchmaker?
no subject
[It could be a lot worse! You could be stuck with an elf-racist or one of the sleazeballs!
Instead you just get the definition of awkward if awkward wore hardly anything at all.]
If I had it my way, I'd just have gone out all day and avoided this whole celebration.
no subject
Alleria snorts, sipping at her tea again.]
I'll go ahead and assume most others feel the same way.
