I've been here two years. I've never seen one.

I'm not going to read that whole thing. If this is about the eyeless buffalo, that's about the only thing I've ever heard of out there. And I've still never seen those.

They are one species mentioned. Some creatures in the areas labeled as the Eldritch forest and the Cinderbreach mountains.

If they exist, I want one. It's that simple.

[The journal picks up a quiet noise of recognition: "Oh."]

I consider "wildlife" to be more normal. Deer and rabbits. Not monsters.

Normally I would as well, but Paradisa's definition seems to be different.

I don't know why. It seems to take holidays and technology from Earth. Why not animals?

Maybe they were always here.

I don't think anything is actually native to this place.

That may or may not be true. They may even be creations of the castle or...castles.

Creations of sentient buildings aren't native either. Because where did the castles come from?

That line of thought is liable be become theological.

I've gotten pretty good at reconciling my own beliefs with the existence of other godlike things.

So do believe this world has a god? Or gods?

Personally I don't know what I believe about this place.

And you still consider it that much of a mystery?

It's not like we get a lot of straight answers.

And that's why I'll start looking for them wherever I can.
