paradisa | 8th Abnormality

Hello everyone, well we've had an eventful few weeks now haven't we? I think after that business it would be nice for everyone to have a chance to unwind and relax and perhaps even get to know others.

Last month we had a pot luck supper for those not involved with the expedition and I thought it might be night to have it again so those who weren't here could also be involved.

If you are interested perhaps you would care to join me Sunday evening for supper in the main dinning hall of the castle.

As before you are welcome to bring food or just yourself, you may eat or socialize or simply be among others for some time. I've a better idea of how to lay things out so I think this will go much more smoothly this time around.

[ she pauses. ]

I think I should be working and I was thinking of looking into the various creatures and plant life outside the normal travel areas. I was hoping you might help me prepare for a little bit of a jaunt.

Cataloging things would be good work for me, and there may be species in need of our help out there.

Dude, yes. And if you haven't gone down to see Brian and Andy, I'm totally taking you.

[ does she sound excited? yes. oh yes she does. ]

Does this mean you want to take a look at the Dead Zone sometime?

I haven't actually, but I would appreciate the introduction.

[Ashely sounding excited was always thrilling and frightening, her daughter had an intense streak.]

[ she's still pretty sure she's the only person who likes it out there. ]

There has to be a better name for the species than that. But perhaps James would like to come along as well.

[She is, rather glad to have skipped out on that.]

You're enthusiasm for this...should it worry me?

[It's ok, she's joking, mostly.]

Definitely. I know he would. And it'd get us all out of the castle for a while.

[ and maybe she can invite katniss. that'd be fun.

the question makes her snort with laughter. ] Of course not. [ definitely yes. ] You have heard about it, right? What it does?

I'll see what he is up to then and we'll schedule something.

[The laughter does nothing to convince her otherwise young lady.] I haven't, do I want to know? Of course I do, but do I need to sit down first?

Awesome.

[ she's smirking. probably a good thing helen can't see. ] It makes everyone the same, equal. Special abilities don't work out there. I don't think machines do, either. It's weird. But y'know... it's the only place where I feel normal.

[ she says it casually, as though it doesn't bother her at all, but there's something in her voice, something that says she's happy about it, something only someone who really knows her would catch. she likes it out there. it makes her normal again. ]

No big deal.

Then it is a good place to visit. I wonder what makes it neutralize things? A general aura or perhaps some geological make up of the environment. If we could determine that we might even be able to make it useful. At least if not to nullify thing then maybe to curb them.

[Already her mind was working on ways that maybe some small bit of the place could be brought back to give Ashely additional peace of mind.]

I dunno. Go ask James. He probably knows.

[ this is where she pauses to see if they're actually talking again. ]
