[the pen writing this trails off with a slightly embarrassed laugh, and Wade speaks.]

Whoops! Sorry. That's kind of a force of habit.

I was just...thinking. I've traveled a lot but I've never been to this city before, even when I was pretty close to it a lot times. Which is kind of a shame, because it's pretty nice here. This park, for example, is gorgeous, and there's so much to do.

Uh...just steer clear of the natural history museum. Trust me on that one.

But anyway, I've been trying to read up on this place. I'm not as good with this stuff as some of my friends, but if I'm getting this right, we're not really in San Diego, since there are other Earth cities I know on the map. And people were taken there before, right?

The thing that really bugs me is - what about all these people? What happens to them when we go back to the castle like everyone is saying we will. Do they, like, stay here forever or are they like us somehow? I hope they get to go home to their families too.

But, for now I have a wallet full of money from a very apologetic corporation. For the record, InGen, I don't know if all this can make me forget that I became fast food for a dinosaur.

...It certainly doesn't hurt though.

[Currently, Wade can be found enjoying lunch at a beautiful cafe overlooking a sculpture garden in Balboa Park, but she can also be found shopping downtown in the morning, where she picked up the pretty dress she's wearing now, or elsewhere in the park like the artist's village or trying for the brass ring at the old carousel. No matter where she is, she's trying her best to have some fun]

I don't know. Maybe they're not even real people at all, just something the castle manufactured.

Could be. If so many people were actually here we would have noticed them in Paradisa by now, right?

I don't know. Not everybody that's here lives in the castle, like those First Gen people somebody mentioned. Plus, I think if I said that we actually in a magical castle land they'd cart me off.

Yes, that does tend to make people very...nervous.

Besides, as far as everyone I've talked to, this is just life as normal for them. Like some kind of creepy mass brainwashing.

Well, I mean, that's what's it's like. To the people here we are in San Diego, but we know that's not really true, right?

...No it's not true. I suppose, anyway. I haven't been to Earth to judge it on its accuracy.

I've never been to this city before, but I am from Earth. In general, though, it's just like home.

Really? So Paradisa works well on its fakes.

It's a certified knockoff that's for sure. Just like a purse on the streetcorner. Hard to tell the difference until you look really close.

After you've already paid your money and the bastard selling it has buggered off into an alleyway somewhere.

I think the metaphor got away from me a little there, but I think the lesson is 'be sure to check your dimension's label before purchase'
