Thirty Two Spoons {Dictated}

[There's some rustling, and the creak of a hinge, before a slow, hesitant tune floats over the journals. When it finishes, there's a pause before the player clears her throat.]

I know this is a little sudden, but...it's so odd. When we got back, a thought occurred to me that I hadn't played a piano in ages, and I wanted to fix that. I think I might be a little rusty, though. If anyone has any requests, I'd be happy to try my hand at them.

To be quite honest, piano is a bit like riding a bike for me. I was a bit apprehensive, I thought I might have forgotten how! But I've still got it. Thank goodness.

Hoo hoo, you are far too kind! But really, I shouldn't have stayed away for so long. I think it's been at least a year.

It's like riding a bike, a few notes and you're right back to it. But hey, at least we have a music room to help with this sort of thing.

[She plinks a few notes.] Did you want to do a little back and forth, perhaps? I play a tune, you play a tune?

Sure, Jane. That sounds like fun, and I've got nothing else to do right now.

[cyan_maid]

Would you like me to start?

Go for it!

Wow I have no idea what I'm doing

[cyan_maid]

I do hope you're ready for me!

[And she starts off with a little bit of this!]

[He listens for a moment, catching the general tune of it, before joining in, strumming his guitar along to her piano notes]

Hahah we can not know what we're doing together

[She lets Once get used to the tune before she shifts into another one. She's taking it easy, but only because she's not sure just what she should play.]

[And he'll match it pretty quickly, come on Jane, give him a challenge here]

[Yeah, she's feeling the need to take things up a notch. After she's tired of that tune, she pauses to pull another sheet out from her pile-]

Oh, now this one looks good!

[And she launches right into this song.]

Voice;

[goingrogue]

[ Cuts in for enthusiastic clapping! ]

You two, start a thing together. Go! I'll be your manager and we'll all make millions.

For real though, that was great. You two are great. I have great friends.

Hoo hoo! Aw, Roxy, please!

Jane, please. You're good and know it, don't sell yourself short ever. You could make millions offa that. Not that I expect you to make millions, just... you know.

[ A little more seriously now. ] You should seriously play more often, Jane. I like it.

[cyan_maid]

[There's a smile to her voice.] I promise I will! It just got away from me for a while, is all. I'll play more often from now on.

Can I tag along when you do? I love listening to you! Ain't nothin' like listen to my bee eff eff playin the old 88.

Of course! I'm in the music room now, if you want to come! Do you know where that is?

Pffft, do I know where the music room is. I've been on enough expeditions through the castle I'm p sure I can figure out about where anything is by this point.

[cyan_maid]

Then I shall be waiting for you, okay?

-Oh! But you know what you should bring? Bring a feather boa.

[ Giggles. ]

I like your style. One feather boa, coming right up! Any other requests? I could go full twenties on you if I want. Or whatever era you prefer.

Hmmm! Whatever you think will go with the boa, I suppose! Go as crazy as you like, we'll have fun with it!

We'd travel all across the castle! Jut the 3 of us!

... Well, we'd have to get Jane a portable keyboard first. Maybe one on rollers, so we can just wheel it down the halls as the two of you play. And as people poke their heads out to listen, I'll have a hat around for people to drop money in to. And if they don't drop in money, I'll look at them menacingly until they do!

Not that you'd guys would even need to worry bout that. We'd get totes rich without my great Lalonde menacing looks. You two are just that good.

I haven't yet experienced this Lalonde look of menace. I'm almost afraid to ask how effective it is .

We can totally work with the wheels, though.
