[So the ice on the pond needs to be scored so it will crack and fall in and melt. There's a bunch of ice skates waiting for you guys at the edge of the water …]

What the hell're we supposed to do?

I guess we walk in these funny shoes on the ice...

[Peeta goes over and starts putting them on.]

[to them both:] Neither of you have experience with this?

I'm from Boston. City never got like this, ain't never had to get ridda ice before.

[He fumbles with the laces for a while with his bad hand before finally succeeding.]

Nope. How are we supposed to balance on these little blades?

[wow okay first of all ... Hellboy's dumb cloven feet won't fit. in the ice skates.

observe as he just looks at the skates for a minute.]

I don't think this is going to work.

[Kermit is looking at his own with equal bewilderment] Mine will fall apart if I even put them on...!

[He looks around for a minute, then has an idea. Is that a sled over there, I think it is!]

Well -- hey. I have pretty good balance on ice. I probably don't even need the skates. What if you hopped on that sled there? And I could pull you around.

Threatening no spring to make us ice-skate?

At least we don't have to shovel.

I don't remember doing this last year.

Wasn't around back then. So what happened last year?

[looking between the note from the castle, then at the skates. Yeah, someone just figured out what "scoring" meant, ie. numbers aren't involved]

No magic, huh...what about machines?

Maybe we could wish some up?

[ elena is a weak human who doesn't believe she can 'score' any ice even with a machine. and she may have a problem with always suggesting wishing to help things move along. ]

[sheesh, where are the mad scientists when we actually have a use for them]

I'd rather not. And the castle probably isn't going to make things so easy.

The castle isn't exactly the most giving, is it? [ sigh. ] Maybe we can help another way?

[Coasting by on his skates, of course doing wonderfully since it's Flynn.

That is, until he tries to use his sword to make the scoring go faster. Apparently his Loss doesn't like him even using it for non fighting purposes-

-and he trips over it and slides across the lake. Lovely]

[Yuri was wandering off to do his own job when he sees a certain blond commandant on the ice, skating in his perfectionist way.
