lobster?

[The Master is in his room. He used his TCE on one of the lobster things and is prodding it with the tip of a knife. It appears dead. The Master has his journal open and dictates to it.]

So, my fellow captives. The castle has decided to become infested with something that resembles a lobster. I've managed to shrink one with my tissue compression eliminator. I'm debating between dissecting this thing and simply boiling it for my dinner. Lobster is, after all, quite tasty.

[River arrives only a few minutes after him, practically a storm of wild blonde curls and worry. Worry over the loved ones she had here who had been bitten by this thing. If she had to deal with the devil himself, she'd do it.

Surprisingly this is the first time she's seen him in person. Only his reputation has proceeded him here
]

Are you the Master?

[]It has to be him, he's got that lobster thing]

[And Carson comes out of one of the adjacent rooms, a set of objects in his hands.]

Ah! River. Good evening.

[He smiles at her, before looking to the Master, waiting for him to answer River's question.]

[River gives Carson a smile, no matter the circumstances, it's always good to see him]

Good evening to you too.

[Her smile lessens when the Master introduces himself. Somehow, she's more cautious around him and for good reason]

Well then boys, let's get down to business.

[Five wanders over, having been preoccupied at first with checking on the unconscious patients]

... You could at least have said please...

Oh, I don't think so. The less pleasantries the better, in my opinion.

[Guess who? It's like a swarm of questionably quirky geniuses.]

[This is exactly what Carson needs.]

I'm going to take a scan using this.

[He holds up the scanner and accompanying terminal.]

It'll give us an accurate picture of what we're dealing with. Unfortunately, a security feature means that it can only be used by someone who has a specific gene, and the results will be displayed in Lantean.

I'll translate them the best I can as I go.

[He pauses, looking at the creature.] Have you been able to determine where it's mouth is? We'll need to get a venom sample fresh from the source. Since most of the victims were seemingly bitten, it's a good chance that's where the venom glands are.

[River stands off to the side, close enough to help if anyone required assistance, but not in the way of Carson scanning that ugly creature.

She glances around the room. First to Five, then to Sherlock, Carson, and finally to the Master. Indeed, a lot of brilliant minds were here today

If you hadn't shrunk it - [Five glares slightly at the Master] - it'd be easier to discern where the mouth is ... but really, this is better than nothing.

Dr. Beckett, perhaps that scanner of yours could tell us where those venemous glands would be located? Or if not ... I believe you said Dr. House has an extensive amount of other scanning equipment onsite, when you were so kind as to give me that tour...?

[Carson is totally getting closer to the thing, the devices in his hands lighting up automatically.]

There are a few 21st Century Earth devices. Ultrasound and the like. I'm not sure what results my scanner will yeild. It was developed to be used on Anicents and Humans, after all.

It may be worth using one of them if mine doesn't yeild any results.

[The blue terminal in his hand beeps as he moves that wand in his other over the enclosure the creature is in]

[River had seen that scanner before, or at least something similar to it]

Interesting technology. I'm assuming it's activated via certain gene patterns?

[She leans a bit closer to the specimen, not straying far from Five's side]

[Sherlock is just drumming his fingers on one of the counters impatiently. Too many people in the room, makes him antsy.]

If you'd like to chat about the inner workings of Dr. Beckett's machine, kindly do it at another time. There are a few other things to be concerned with right now.

[He gives River an apologetic look.]

Mr. Holmes is right. I'll be happy to explain how it works later.

[He's frowning at the results on his scanner, scribbling down a translation.]

This is like nothing I've seen before. It doesn't match anything that I've seen in a biological sense...

[He pauses.] There's something that might be venom sacs attached to it's teeth, like a snake, but I can't be sure.
