[Obviously this is another test. Last time, York had said the objective here was to 'explore and survive', so she's certain there's got to be a twist, second time around.]

[That check-in out of the way, she's going to roam the halls, taking note of the new and old name plates and reacquainting herself with the layout. To her, it's been a couple years since she's been here.]

[Odd ... she didn't recognize this voice, but if he's coming through on the filter, well, he's got to be a friendly, right? She still answers with a note of caution, though.]

[It didn't sound quite like Kat, either.]

[Oh yes, it's Kat alright, just nearly decade and a half younger than he might remember.]

[but hearing him rattle off his rank gets her to respond with a much more crisp and immediate response.]

Third floor, Sir.

[Yep. Hearing her call him sir was... Weird.

He's up and out, moving to leave the library to find his CO.]

[She'll do what he says, keeping herself on the third floor while inspecting the nameplates and assessing cover/vantage points and exits. Oh, looked like he lived on this floor.]

[She stares at the number, thinking, 052. That was a Spartan's service number ... in fact that was a Spartan's service number just one tick above Kurt-051. Maybe that was the twist, this time; working with another Spartan.]

[And Jorge comes up onto the third floor. No-one there apart from a kid... staring at his bedroom door.

He takes a few steps closer. No... it can't be...]

[He might be a bit bigger than Kurt, but definitely a SPARTAN-II.]

[She looks at him, and he should see the resemblance; that same, bright, sharp intelligence, just sized down.]

[Although this Kat hasn't quite earned herself the nickname yet, she finds the greeting a bit odd, but immediately snaps to attention and salutes.]

[Holy shit, looking all the way up sort of hurt her neck; definitely taller than Kurt.]

[And Jorge falls back on protocol, saluting back. He was probably going to have to get used to the "sir".]

They were locked for safety by a master. If you like, I can give you the codes - or a holographic lockpicking training set.

[Why give her a fish when he can teach her to catch a fish? He doesn't even have to ask to know that Kat would prefer learning how to do it herself.]

Was there a hangar last time you were here, Spartan?

[No, she wouldn't appreciate a gimmee, and while she's excited to be able to work with whatever tools he supplies her, something else catches her attention even moreso.]

No! Are you saying there's one here now?

There is. Once you've found a place to bunk, you can work on locating it. It's not on the castle grounds, but within [insert vague distance between castle and hangar]. You'll find supplies and training materials there.

[And once she's settled with staying with Jorge for a night or two, she's going to incognito her way right over to the hangar, and once she's in she's filtering right back to York again]

[He has to laugh a little at how excited she sounds. So Kat liked Falcons even as a kid, huh? Suddenly he's not so surprised she built one.]

We've upgraded a bit since last time you were here. Now on the first floor there's a workshop with some practice routines for holographic locks. Did you find the food supplies?

Yes, I did. There aren't any MREs in here ...

[She doesn't sound too broken up about that, and hopefully she won't find the stash Adult!Kat keeps hidden from York.]

[Muttering to herself,] I think I want soup. I'm going to make soup. And a grilled cheese sandwich ... oh! with bacon! [Yes, the appetite started out young as well.]
