[the day of the party has arrived!

right around dinnertime, fairies will try to round up every single character and gesture, lead, or pull them towards the courtyard. there, the miniature castle has finally been completed! there are fairy lights and beautiful singing all around you, and it looks like there's some kind of a party going on in the castle, but...

...but it's still so tiny. how could you possibly get in there? it would be hard just to get your hand through the front door!

but the fairies will persist, and as soon as a character steps into the fairy ring...

they find themselves in the ballroom.

[Being trapped at the party doesn't sit well with her, but Rin rolls with the punches anyway, sidling through the crowd with a goblet of the wine absently held in one hand but as yet untouched.

She's dressed in a mask that's spiky and colored like flame. Her dress is a little more modern than usual, as she forwent her usual formal kimono. She doesn't really know what she's looking for - perhaps nothing at all. Perhaps a dance farmer. She'll know it when she finds it. In the meantime, she's not quite watching where she's going, as she absentmindedly treads on a foot.]

Oops. [More because she should be than because she is - ] Sorry.

[oh, the person who's shoe you just stepped on...? is very handsome. he turns in surprise, but fixes her with an... interested gaze.

hello, Rin. you have someone's attention.]

[She stares for a moment in return and then - er, takes a step back.]

I'll just.. go...?

[but why? he looks momentarily surprised (maybe a little confused) before he returns to smiling and offers her his hand.

why not grace him with a dance first?]

[She looks warily at his hand. And then at his face. No words?]

Er... who are you?

[aah, he shakes his head and puts a finger up to his lips, almost smirking. no words.]

[YOU. Crowley just leans over her and removes the goblet from her hand]

No. No drinking for you. Not while we're in the same room.

Hey! That's my wine!

And now it's mine. I'm cutting you off.

YOU CAN'T DO THAT. I'm an adult!

[while she's wandering, busy bumping into people and whatnot, someone else slides up behind her. A toothy woman in a leather red mask, leering over her shoulder]

--Hey, I like your mask.

[payback]

[JUMP. Wine slops over Rin's hand.]

Arghl - oh crap! What? Who are you?

[whoop, hands go to either of the girl's shoulders, to help steady her]

Heeeey, careful there. What are you so jittery for?

You just came up! [Nonplussed, Rin stares up at the woman. And at her teeth.]

... Are you a new resident? Who are you?

[ Rosalie turns, hiking her dress up slightly to fix its placement over her heels. ]

Be careful. It will become more crowded as the night goes on. [ Has Hell frozen over? Is Rosalie actually enjoying herself? ]

Ah, sorry. Um, are you a resident?

[hvic]

[ She nods once. ]

I am.

New? I haven't seen you around before...

[migrates]

[ the foot pulls back right before it can actually be stepped on and there's a pink haired woman wearing a much too short dress smiling bemusedly. ]

Mmn, distracted, are we? Careful, you might hurt someone that way! [ she winks under the mask ]

[Woah, but you're adorable tonight, Simca. Rin is less interested by the dress and more distracted by Simca's hair, staring quite flagrantly!]

Oooh... who are you?

[migrates]

Mmn, shouldn't that be a secret?

[ she winks and taps her mask ]

That's why we're wearing these, right?

[assassino]

[After a whole night of stepping on toes, Ezio catches her just before she bumps into him, with one hand firmly at her waist. He's already smiling, which is visible through the open mouth of his iron mask. Unlike Rin, he hasn't opted for a more "modern" outfit.]

Be careful, ardente. You would not want to stumble.

Oh, hey. [She knows that voice. Rin turns towards him with a blink, eying the mask speculatively just for a moment.]

Eh... don't worry about me. I'm good at staying not-tipped-over. What's "ardente" mean?

[assassino]

Fiery. [He gestures at her mask.] I do not think I have ever seen a girl who wears so many flames.

[She titters, after the littlest pause, deciding all at once that she likes the nickname.]

I have since forever! You could call it my habit.
