☽ 005 [ Waxing Crescent ] - - Accidentally Dictated.

[ Remus is completely unaware of the open journal sitting on his desk in his room, far too preoccupied with pacing back and forth while he mutters to himself. His voice sounds quite agitated and upset and it's probably not a surprise that he hasn't slept in the past two days, and neither has he left his room.

After what happened on Valentines Day, he's far too embarrassed -- and perhaps just a little heartbroken -- to be able to face a certain someone right now. ]

-- stupid. Someone should really write a book.
"How to lose your best friend in three words or less." Sounds like a right bestseller if you ask me --

[ There's a small huff and noise that sounds awfully like the mew of a cat. Someone's gotten into his cake and is now collecting cats. Don't bother asking him if he's alright, though. He'll either be decidedly mute or it'll be very tough to get him to talk without switching the topic. ]

This is exactly why I dislike this holiday...

[ He curses a little when he realizes the journal's been recording him, but he picks it up nonetheless. He can trust Hermione right? Will she understand? He's unsure. ]

Sirius is what happened. Do you like cats? Do you know where I can get more of them?

[ Sorry, Hermione, he's gotten into that cake... ]

What about Sirius? Should I come over?

I ... I said something to him. That I didn't mean -- well, I did, but I didn't ... didn't want to say it...

[ Which basically means you should come over, Hermione. ]

I'll be there in a moment. [she Apparates to his front door, knocking politely]

[ Remus hears the knock on the door and hesitates for a moment, before he moves to open it. When he sees Hermione standing there, he steps aside to allow her inside. ]

Hey...

All right. Now, from the beginning: tell me what happened.

[ He stares at her for a moment, before sighing and walking over to sit down on his bed. He places his elbows on his knees and rests his head in his hands, hiding his face. ]

I don't know... I was just, eating that chocolate that everyone got and Sirius came and he offered me one. Next thing I know, I'm admitting something I didn't want to admit to him and I'm fairly sure it was because of the chocolate...

[she lets him talk, frowning at his words. She still feels like he's not telling her everything]

Magical chocolates... Whatever happened, don't worry about it too much. The castle does all sorts of things to us.

[ He shakes his head and sighs as he looks up at her. ]

No, I've ruined everything, Hermione. I ... I told him I loved him, meant every word of it. And I had no right, no right at all to get all jealous at him over those girls he's been pawing after..

[she digests his words. She can't help but think of Remus and Sirius as she knew them, trying to reconcile that with the teenagers she knows now]

You two are best friends. If you felt that way, it was right for you to be honest about it. Even if castle magic forced it out of you.

[ He scoffs softly. ]

There are a lot of things I'm not honest with them at all... He'll probably even be angry, that I hid such a thing from him. Or disgusted. One of the two...

If he's disgusted, I promise I will personally slap him. And if he's angry, I hope he'll get over it.

[ There's a slight twinge of a smile at the corners of his mouth at that. ]

What, no hexes or curses?

I've found that peoplje respond better to physical force. But at the moment, I think you're jumping to conclusions. Let him digest this.

No... They won't be the same. But your friendship has lasted through more than this. I have no doubt you'll work through this.

[ He tries to hold back the spiteful tone, he really does. ]

[ He winces a little at his tone. ]

[ For one reason or another, she has a feeling this person didn't mean to share that just now. So she won't ask him for the obvious; as he obviously isn't okay. Nonetheless, she'll dictate an awkward reply: ]

[ He really should stop eating that cake... ]

You could go into town, or just ask the castle.
