[Well, his entire past week was certainly strange as all hell, and now that he's back to normal, it seems to slowly be getting weirder. The journal situation was at least better than the previous day and him making a hasty retreat out of a girl's bedroom before she woke up (which Pixy made an effort to leave that pink collar in front of Rise's door, since the castle was kind enough to leave it on him even when he turned back to normal), but of course the filters had to go and break when he has filters of his own to do. Oh well.]

I hope none of you were getting attached to that red mutt that was around. Sorry to say you won't be seein' it anymore. [Unless the same mutt being a patch on his flight jacket counted as seeing it, but it's hardly the same.]

[He stares at the journal a bit and sighs, muttering to himself.] Not that there's any point to the "filtering" thing right now... It'd get their attention, if nothing else.

[He'll be hesitant to say this, but he might as well get it over with.]

[So annoyed by that, by the way. The dog thing, not her. He's got no reason to be annoyed at that little squirt, after all.]

[Well, so much for Rise's denial. Now she knows Pixy was that hound that was in her room last week. Surprisingly, she doesn't even freak out. She already kinda freaked out a bit when she realized the dog was some guy on a loss the day it happened. And she was kinda prepared for it to be Pixy for a few days now, anyway.

... It's the filter to her that catches her attention the most. That and, with the filters broken lately, the fact that everyone can hear it.

At first, she just manages an honest reply to what actually sounds like honest appreciation for once.]

[Unlike Pixy, though, she can't just leave it there.]

... You're not on another loss or something already, are you?

[He's probably quirking his eyebrow at that last question right now. Not that she can see it.]

Why, because I'm showing gratitude for the support? I know how to thank people when necessary. You easily could have left me out in the hall day one.

[Given how she had been acting before she knew the hound was someone on a loss, that might have actually been preferable. She's so glad he can't see her blushing right now...]

Er, right. I, uh, guess I just wasn't expecting any thanks...

Guess I figured you'd just be a little more upset about walking around on a leash and stuff.

[There's a half-hearted laugh from Pixy.]

[The leash thing was a little annoying, but it wasn't like he had any plans of wandering around on his own anyway.]

I think I was more annoyed by the color of that leash rather than being on the end of it.

[Not that she knows anything about war, but... he really does seem to have gotten a bit less... snippy? Rise doesn't even know. She could be imagining things.

Besides, the mention of the leash color distracts her, and she giggles.]

It was cute!

And yeah, I know, you didn't think so. I might have asked for a different color if I knew...

[Not that she asked for pink in the first place, but she probably could have asked for a different color instead of just using the pink one.]

[It was almost a shame that she couldn't see his face right now because of her 'cute' comment, since he was torn between looking annoyed and cracking a smile from mild amusement. There's far more of the amusement factor in his tone though.]

At least I can't hold that against you, but why do I doubt that you wouldn have changed it if you did know?

[He kinda does have a point. She sounds very amused as she gives the closest thing to an answer she can.]

Well, not a lot of colors go with that bright red without just looking tacky.

I would think pink is tacky by default. [the rhinestones were tacky as all hell, certainly.]

You could have just gone with white and been done with it.

[Though he only says that because his personal aircraft were always white and red, but hey, she doesn't need to know that.]

She privately admits to herself, though, white would have been perfectly acceptable. If she had cared enough to change it at the time.]

[He's hesitant a moment before he answers, since it was kind of weird that he was called by his first name for once. He'd almost forgotten that she saw his room's nameplate a couple days ago.]
