❄ first snow

[Despite waking up in a weird room, Jack isn't one to spend a lot of time indoors. He explores the outside of the castle instead, one hand on the journal, the other wrapped firmly around his staff. He is easy enough to see: a pale, lanky boy sliding along banisters, drawing frost ferns on the windowpanes, and even surfing down the roof on a ramp of ice.]

Pretty interesting read, I gotta say. [A cold wind ruffles the pages of the journal as he goes.] And magical too, if the transcription means anything.

Hey, magic book! Can you answer a couple questions? Like, ah, which way is home? I think I got turned around somewhere, even though that... doesn't usually happen.

Another thing. Didn't we already have Easter? [The cheer in his voice starts to fade.] Whoever wrote down the date in here is... more than a month off.

That's... weird.

[Hearing the rattling sounds of the staff behind her, Mitsuru quickly turned to point the sharp tip of her sword at whoever is there, with her Persona Artemisia materializing behind her]

[snowstorms]

[She'll find a lanky kid standing there awkwardly while there's a sword and whatever else pointed at him, his staff still on the ground. He blinks a few times, and then hides the staff behind him (not like it'll do any good-- it's taller than he is).]

Whoa! No need to be alarmed, miss. [He holds his hands up in a surrendering gesture, his staff balancing by itself.] You can put the sword down. I'm not dangerous.

[He is noticeably barefoot, however, and there is frost gently spreading from where his toes touch the stone.]

[Mitsuru looked at the boy from head to toe, where she noticed some frost spreading from his feet. She lets out a quiet sigh before sheathing her sword back to her side]

I must apologize, you startled me.

[snowstorms]

That's my fault, actually. I'm usually invisible. Something about this place threw me off, I guess.

[He takes a gentlemanly bow, then grabs his staff.]

You look like you know your way around that thing pretty well. [He gestures to the sword.] It's been a while since I saw someone fight like that.

[luxe_can_kill]

[Mitsuru nods]

I see. You must be a newcomer...

And I have been training with swords such as these for a long time, it's a hobby.

[snowstorms]

That's right. I just got here, oh, about fifteen minutes ago? Woke up in a nice room and everything, but it's not really for me.

[He drops to a crouch.]

One of my best friends is an accomplished swordsman himself. Do you ever spar other people?

Of course. Sparring is very essential to development [She had a proud smile on her face, remembering how she is a top fencer in her school back then]

And welcome to Paradisa, Mr...?

[snowstorms]

Practice is good, but you should take a break once in a while. [He holds his arms out, gesturing to the grounds.] The snow here is perfect for pretty much anything. Snow forts, snow people, snow fights... Believe me, powder like this doesn't stick all year round.

[He wraps his hands around his staff again.]

I'm Jack. Jack Frost. And you are?

Jack Frost? The mythical entity? [For someone familiar with the supernatural, and having been in here longer, she's still a little surprised to see Jack Frost in person]

[snowstorms]

[He's about as surprised to see you, too.]

That's a little rude. [His expression is kidding, though.] Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Heh, that is true enough.

You were considered a myth in the world I came from. Although I am no stranger to anything... magical.

[snowstorms]

[He smiles, a touch sadly.] That's because all the myths are written by grown-ups.

You deal with magic a lot?

[luxe_can_kill]

I do. I have been exposed to the supernatural at a young age, and have possessed a power called "Persona" ever since.

[snowstorms]

Persona? Like a... character?

[He's trying to wrap his head around that.]

[luxe_can_kill]

It is a manifestation of one's personality and inner thoughts, an entity I could summon to aid me in battle.

[snowstorms]

Whoa, seriously? That sounds so cool! What's it look like? Does it talk to you?

[luxe_can_kill]

Artemisia.

[Mitsuru's Persona materialized beside her like an 8 foot tall bodyguard when she called upon it]

It does not talk to me, however my Persona has the ability to allow me telepathic communication, like the journal, and control over ice.

[snowstorms]

[Jack startles when the Persona is summoned out of nowhere, but manages not to fall over. He cautiously circles it, mouth open, trying to classify it... It's not really like him, though. A different kind of guardian-- no capitalization required.]

So cool... no pun intended. [He looks at Mitsuru.] You can control ice?

[luxe_can_kill]

To some extent, yes. I can use it offensively, along with healing physical wounds.

[snowstorms]

You can heal? Wow... I hope you don't have to use it that much.

[Kids shouldn't be fighting.]

I had to on occasion. It's part of my job.
