[5] 23 Days Until Easter
[It's been a weird start of the month for Bunny. What with Holly Peaks, then getting not one, but TWO people from his home world, one of which he assumed was long gone. All in the space of a week. To make matters worse, the castle had decided to do this on the very month where Easter was held.
He could have sworn the place had done it on purpose.
As is normal for him, instead of facing any of the worry and heartache Katherine's arrival has brought him, he's thrown himself into his work. It needs to be done, anyway, and it means he doesn't have to deal with his own feelings on the matter. It's win-win, really.
And so, anyone out in the gardens today will find red tulip-like flowers sprouting everywhere, look closely enough and there's a slight glow to them. A few flowers are also blooming, revealing small white eggs on spindly legs within them. The googies, freshly brought into the world, are all heading over to where Bunnymund is sitting, pots of paint beside him as he goes through the labourous task of painting each googie, then sending them down inside the safety of his burrow. To await their big day.
Of course, to those who don't believe in the Easter Bunny, they don't see him. As he paints, his journal is open beside him, so he can listen to the casual chatter of the residents, a splatter of paint occasionally hitting the page and soaking into the paper as he works]
That whole dodgy Holly Peaks mess put me behind schedule. It's not like I can access my realm here, y'know. Everything has to be done by paw. But if it thought it could put me off, then that plan went down the gurgler.
[Another paint splatter, then a sigh. He can't keep his mind off things as much as he'd like to] Anyhow mates. Have any of you heard about Jack Frost? Mother Goose?

darn tootin
[Bunny snorts at that. Oh wonderful. A human who thought breeding was something to be admired] Given I've been around since before humans existed, I think that's a pretty safe bet for me, mate.
Did- did you just call me a dingo? I am not a dingo. I'm a bunny.[Don't punch him, don't punch him, don't punch him] You could have had a bloody good try. You wouldn't of liked where it ended up. And I had a knife on him because he was trying to eat one of my kids. I don't regret protecting her, not for a second.
Have you ever told a kid not to do something?
two of em
[ Aaaaaand he's starting to get up in Bunnymund's face, teeth bared in warning. ] I could turn you into a dingo if I damn well pleased, Jafa.
Let me just tell you a few things about Remus J. Lupin. About what he's gone through. I've seen the scars on his back, all over him. He gave himself all those scars. His parents would keep him in a padded room in their basement, the wolf'd insane and tear at his own flesh.
And another thing? He's been a werewolf since he was a kid.
[ And now, the Black Family rage that's always in the back of his consciousness is smoldering just behind his eyes, as he glares at him now. ]
If you're trying to tell me you're here to protect children, I say you've done a piss-poor job.
[ He draws himself up to full height, noses barely an inch apart. ]
I'm warning you. Give him a single scar more, and I'll give you fifty.
no subject
[For his part, he doesn't seem all that bothered. After all, his greatest enemy holds power over fear itself, a human, even one with magic, isn't much of a threat to him at all] You really want to push it, don't you dog boy?
[This, however, does give him reason to pause. Because, well, if there was one weak spot for the pooka, children were it. Another kid from another world he couldn't reach. Another one growing up without a guardian. It wasn't right]
Trust me, if I was part of your world, he would have been protected. We wouldn't have let that happen to him. [And that, at least, is sincere]
He doesn't hurt the kids, I won't have any reason to hurt him. I'm not looking for a fight. Which doesn't seem to be the same for you. I care about the kids here. Nothing more, nothing less. If he doesn't give me a reason to fight him, I won't. But I will defend those children with my life. I swore an oath, the kind you can't go back on.
[He casts Sirius a disdainful look] No matter who takes issue with that.

[ Bunny doesn't know the madness and evil of dark magic like what Sirius grew up with, of the terrible things the old families have done. Or that in a few short years, Sirius will be good and ready to blow a human being off the face of the Earth and almost does. He doesn't see any real power to be afraid of in this boy because he simply doesn't know.
But the wallaby has a point. Picking a fight on the roof of all places is stupid. And unnecessary. Besides, Unbreakable Vows are a thing. He can at least he can respect that. And so, he takes a step back, eyes not once leaving Bunnymund. ]
Fine. Just remember. You've been warned.
[ And with a large CRACK, the dark haired wizard vanishes, having Apparated back to his room. ]

[And the kid was gone. Bunny rolls his eyes a little, before heading off back towards his burrow. He was getting too old for this sort of crap]
