Track 1: a new beginning

[The sound of a motorcycle engine is recorded for a while, then gradually purrs to a stop.

A voice speaks, with a distinct accent and a fairly incredulous tone:]

Riding with the wind often takes me to new places, but I hadn't intended to go quite this far out of the city. [Looking around at passing townsfolk for someone who looks likely to be helpful, but no one seems to be making eye contact.] Perhaps some pretty Fraulein will stop and help me with directions back to the city of angels? I seem to have lost my way as my mind and wheels wandered.

((ooc: Open if you're in the City Royale (he's riding a motorcycle the same color as his coat), and his open journal has showed up in his pocket to record the whole encounter.))

She'll be fine. There are so few vehicles around here that you don't have to worry about it being hit... and you'd be surprised how many people here wouldn't even know what it was [she laughs.]

There's a nice cafe just around the corner. [she points] It's not far at all.

[gratuitousgerman]

...That sounds like as good a place as any. [He'll just wheel his bike along as they make their way over toward the cafe.] Have you...been here long?

[kungfuwitch]

[She nods]

Almost two years, actually. Although I can still hardly believe that, myself.

[gratuitousgerman]

Two years... And you're sure that no one misses us at home?

[They're out front of the cafe now, so Klavier will just lean his bike against a wall, then pull a chair out from one of the tables for Phoebe. Ever the gentleman.]

I'm sure, yes. Everyone else from my world who's been here was here from a point earlier in our time than I was. I remember everything that happened before and after they'd been taken and never once do I remember any of them disappearing.

{She smiles. What a gentleman. So rare these days. She nods and sits]
