dandelionwine: Staring at the ceiling, eyes wide, mouth agape. (baffled)

one abstraction

[Although she'd gone to sleep in a small, quiet, dimly lit room and awoken the next morning in very similar surroundings, Rin had known immediately she was nowhere she'd ever been before. The strange book lying next to her head had only confirmed her suspicions.

Now she is planted in the castle's large lobby. Any passersby might notice the girl sitting against a wall, hunched over her journal and turning the pages carefully with her feet, as she has no arms. She's taking in all the information she can, learning with every turn of the page. After a while, she speaks up, more to herself than to anyone or anything else.]

Am I the only artist here? The only student? Lots of butterflies are making it confusing.

So true! The things this castle does cannot be called "human." It messes with your head, like one time I wished for condoms (because you can wish for stuff, it's pretty neat), and the next thing I knew my room was overflowing with condoms that clogged up the tower I'm in and almost suffocated me!

That's the kind of place you are now.

There's nothing "safe" about being suffocated to death.

I've never died before, but I've heard that you're brought back to life if that happens here. There's basically no way out of Paradisa until you're shunted off.
