[Martel is staring at the pies that adorn the lobby, sipping at a cup of sweetened coffee, surprisingly. Reborn is a bad influence on her. She doesn't dare even try to eat one yet, but they do look rather delicious.]

Is this an Earth holiday where people just make pies? Or is just the castle being strange today?

...And is it safe to eat them? [She's been eying a rather good looking chocolate one.]

[Looking around the lobby, it was obvious Chie was still new to the castle. The pies all over the lobby was tempting for the hungry girl.

But then she heard Martel ask something]

Earth holiday? Are you an alien?

It's in honor of Pi Day, a celebration to honor the mathematical constant of pi. It takes place on March the fourteenth because three, one and four are the three most significant digits in pi's decimal form.

Mmhm. Someone explained what pi was to me. It's still interesting, though. I never knew that it even existed.

The first official Pi Day was only about ten years ago in my time. It is fairly new in terms of "holidays".

I don't know. They do have some pretty weird hobbies. I wouldn't put it past them to have one all about pies.

[Rise notices that delicious-looking chocolate pie as she walks into the lobby, too. But she's a little bit wary herself after Valentine's Day. So she finds her attention turned to the other woman.]

Um... this is a holiday where I'm from, but it has nothing to do with pies...

[She looks contemplative for a brief moment.]

But nobody I've talked to seemed to know about White Day, so maybe it's another foreign holiday...?

[She'll get around to introductions, Martel, she's just a little lost in thought and debating whether it's worth the risk to actually have some of that pie...]

Huh? Weird...

[She doesn't quite make the connection between pi and March 14th. But she isn't really trying, either.

And she's quickly distracted by the question.]

White Day is like Valentine's Day for girls!

[Then, remembering some of the differing opinions on Valentine's Day, she clarifies.]

I mean, back home, girls give chocolates to guys on Valentine's Day. Then, on White Day, guys are supposed to give gifts to girls. But I guess people do it differently here.
