iii. question.
[The words are written in the centre of the page, halfway down, the handwriting thin and angular.]
What is the cause of your greatest pain?
[MANSION]
[Micheletto is, in a word, bored. Asking questions to satisfy his curiosity (and partly to slake his thirst for inflicting pain; it's a hard world where there is no reason for him to slit throats or poison drinks) can only occupy him for so long.
He's currently wandering his new 'home,' exploring in a way. He does not like it here, and so he wishes to get this -- figuring out the layout, finding any secret rooms -- out of the way as soon as possible in order to spend his days in the city.]

A few rooms have damage, either regarding holes in the walls or broken objects strewn about. Things have become more straightened up since Joshua hired back two of Zelman's old maids from the city, who Micheletto may find wandering about at any time, but something is clearly 'off' about the mansion, and there's little to fix it. It's housed nothing but the worst of humanity, really. Along with animals... There's the kitten Lucrezia got, the pokémon Aron and Cyndaquil, a beer-loving penguin buddying with a white tiger in any given room, and who knows what else.
Joshua follows at first, keeping a good distance until the manservant happens upon an upstairs suite door that's been locked. At that, the 'teenager' is quick to appear, stepping up behind Micheletto and shaking his head. At least he can joke. ]
If you're trying to find a bath, I think you passed about fifty.

No, Micheletto doesn't really care. He glances over his shoulder, mouth set in a thin, unimpressed line; he'd been aware that someone had been following him for quite some time, but as far as he knew, only his mistress and his mistress's... whatever this boy was to her were the only permanent residents. So he wasn't that worried about it.]
Does it concern you that I should like to be familiar with my new home?
