[today one can find Dextera in the library but he's not reading this time. he's actually playing chess with himself, thanks to the castle giving him a chess set as a Christmas gift.

...it's strange. playing by himself like this didn't feel "new" like most things did. lonely, sure, but not "new".

eventually he decides to ask a little about this and writes in the journal.]

What does it mean when you feel like you've seen something before but can't remember it? I forget the word.

[the appearance of the Dark Hand does cause Dextera to tilt his head but other than that, he doesn't look bothered. a little curious, yes, but he decides to hold off the questions and slides a pawn of his own forward.]
