021 Summons ❈ Written & Action
[Members of Symphonia House may have noticed some strange behavior from their resident ninja, who had seemed to be keeping pretty much to herself for the past couple of weeks, with barely-spoken and written journal responses being the only proof that she hadn't been sent home. She had gone out to check on Onyx, but had bypassed the front door and left by window, and returned the same way.
Despite her conversation with Colette, the ninja just couldn't bring herself to face her friends--even over meals--but she hadn't wanted to go back to the castle, either, needing a "sense" of their presence around her. So, she had remained in her room, keeping busy reading any journal entry--especially Raine's--about the castle and Paradisa she could find in order to keep from thinking certain thoughts, making the occasional foray into the kitchen for sustenance--both microwaveable and non--then returning to her room as quickly as possible before anyone could wake up and question her.
However, not even Sheena's own bad opinion of herself can keep her outgoing personality down, and it had begun to re-emerge more and more as she responded to more journals (her humor getting the better of her in one--or in this one as she draws humorous pictures of Yeleurk the cat doing cat-things), but she's still not ready to leave her room.
Not without assistance, that is.]
[ooc: Like the title says, the journal is open to replies regarding the pictures or just wanting to talk, and action regarding members of Symphonia house (animal included!)--or others who know where Sheena lives--wanting to drag her out of her room. BTW, Lloyd, she may have had one of your Hot Pockets!]

action;
He knocks on her door, but doesn't expect a response.]
action;
Both of which she was in the process of finishing, when Lloyd knocked on the door, startling both her and the cat, and despite her intention to remain quiet, Sheena found herself the victim of a cat pounce as he ran across her to the door.]
OOF!! Yeleurk!
[So much for no response...]
action;
Sheena? Can we talk for a sec?
action;
Dismissing that idea, she gives Yeleurk a look, who returns it with one reeking of feline smugness. Sighing, she begins gathering her clothes, really not wanting to have this conversation through a door for too long.]
Yeah, sure Lloyd. What is it?
action;
It's probably none of my business, but... you seem to be spending a lot of time inside your room lately. We're all kinda worried.
action;
Oh... Well, I've been reading some of the journal entries about the castle.
[Especially Raine's.
There are also drawings and sketches about that Sheena made to help her "see" what she was reading.]
action;
That's good and all, but you're not even coming down for dinner. And you're obviously not sick, so... what gives?
action;
[A partial truth, since that has happened a few times.
But, she can't completely lie to him, either, and heaves a heavy sigh.]
I don't really know where to begin...
no subject
We're your friends. Don't you think we can handle whatever's bothering you?
no subject
[So, she fell on old habits: being away from people.]
no subject
Just start from the beginning, if you have to. I don't have anything else to do. Nothing's more important than friends.
no subject
But it's his final words that cause her to look down again.]
I wish I had remembered that sooner, Lloyd.
[Maybe then, people wouldn't keep leaving her.]
no subject
[It could be mean, but he just smiles through it all.]
Let's sit outside on the patio and figure this out.
no subject
Yeah... But you just want to go out there? I have a chair...
[Still a bit hardheaded, isn't she? At least it's still kind of out of her room.]
no subject
Oh, yeah, sure. If you don't mind.
no subject
No, I don't mind at all.
[And she steps aside to let him in.]
Just watch for the cat. He likes feet.
no subject
He lets himself out onto the balcony and doesn't stare too hard at the state of her room. He's kind of intruding, after all. He turns a chair out so that she can sit in it easier, the equivalent of pulling a chair out from a table, and sits in the other one.]
no subject
Stifling a chuckle and unaware of the impression her room has made on him, Sheena joins her friend, lightly blushing at the gentlemanly gesture. Accepting the offer, she sits and smiles at him.]
Thanks, Lloyd. So, what did you want to talk about?
no subject
[He sighs.]
You shouldn't act like everything's fine when it isn't.
no subject
Her smile fades and she looks out over the yard.]
I know. But I can't help it at times, Lloyd. It's almost like breathing.
[She sighs.]
So is being hardheaded.
no subject
[He considers, then reaches out to take her hand.]
Start from the beginning, okay?
no subject
You'll probably laugh... [Which is one of her fears; a leftover from when she was a child.]
[She looks off into the distance, not even aware he's taken her hand.]
But do you remember those nutcracker things?
no subject
[He watches her, not intently enough to be creepy, but he's paying attention.]
Yeah... I remember. [Didn't they kiss? That was also around the time he got together with Colette...]
no subject
I'm sorry... I didn't mean to imply you were...
[She sighs.]
And do you remember that I went into the Dead Zone almost right after? [Ironically, their kiss had nothing to do with that trip; to her, it had been a reaffirmation of their friendship.]
no subject
You left pretty quickly. So it... had something to do with the nutcrackers?
no subject
Yeah... I screwed up pretty badly. So much that I almost lost two friendships over it.
[She's quiet a moment.]
And a third was worried about me, but I was too stubborn to check the journal to see...
And now he's gone, and I never got the chance to tell him...
[She trails off... This is kinda hard for her, okay?]
no subject
[He rests his chin in his hand.]
So you... feel bad for not talking to the third guy. Hmm... Why don't you write him a letter?
no subject
[She looks at him, obviously upset.]
What good would a letter do? He's not here anymore, and even if he comes back, he probably won't remember me...
no subject
[He smiles encouragingly.]
Besides, we have friends who've left and came back, and remembered everything. Don't give up, all right?
no subject
I've never thought you or what you've said were dumb. [She blushes.] I, uh, even try to remember a lot of it--especially what you said in Welgaia. But, I sometimes can't...
[She clears her throat. Enough of that.]
Like you said, I blame myself for this. I start to like someone, and be like other people, and he's suddenly gone. I start to feel okay because my friends are here, and one by one, they start leaving again. [She knows it sounds silly, but it's how she feels.]
I'll be writing a lot of letters, Lloyd...
no subject
:<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Hey Sheena hey sheena hey Sheena, someone is knock knock knocking on your door]
After Lloyd's visit? :D (And apologies to Edgar Allen Poe.)
She has an idea who it is, but old habits die hard, and she hesitates before opening the door using the oldest trick in the book.]
Coming!
Sounds good to me!
<3!
Hi, Colette! What's up?
[How's her nonchalant, innocent act?]
no subject
no subject
Have you been talking to Lloyd?
no subject
Yes... I talk to Lloyd.
no subject
I mean before coming up to talk to me.
no subject
No, why? Did Lloyd come here too?
no subject
[She's not going to tell her he was worried about her.]
no subject
no subject
No, Colette! Never!
[Dear gods, someone sew her mouth shut so she'd stop saying stupid things!]
