Pie day was pretty clever of the castle. It isn't something I've heard of, but being an inspired and hopeful engineer, the number is an important part of mathematics and physics.

Speaking of, I was thinking about the idea of a school again. I don't know how many qualified teachers there are, but is anyone willing to become one? I know we have many people who have studied a variety of things, and it can be beneficial to anyone who wants to pick up a class or two.

The subject is up to you.

I'm headed to the stables if you're not busy.

I'm never too busy for you. See you there.

Hello, Violet. Tau day might be more inspired. There's a lot to be said for Tau. [Because, honestly castle, pies? Although that baked apple he sampled wasn't bad...]

There isn't a school here at all? How can young minds learn? If this is something you wish to organise I may be able to offer assistance.

What would you teach?
theabjectauthor: (I am in approval!)

You know you have my assistance in this - though I would have to think on which skills I would be most qualified to teach.
theabjectauthor: (I am knowledgeable)

[personal profile] theabjectauthor 2013-03-16 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Knowing who would like to be taught seems like a fairly reasonable place to begin. Have you asked, already?

Do you know how to make mechanical clocks and such?

[she may beat him there, since he lives in a tower and has to go down lots of stairs before even making it outside. But he will be there!]

It seems the castle is rife with inventors as well.

One is no less an inventor with or without vast libraries, surely?

[Percy is dressed warm and comfortable. He smiles when he sees her]

Wow, you look... um. That's a good riding outfit. C'mon, let me introduce you to my friends.

[he gestures for her to follow where all the animals are waiting]

Then that gives you an idea of the level of expertise needed - a very, very rough estimate, at least. As you well know, there are many young men and women who are already experts in one field of study as compared to others.
toobravehearted: (131 This is going to be good)

Very good, but Tau is much more than just that! [He's getting excited on the topic. Oh no, poor Violet...]

It's another mathematical constant, just as important as Pi. Half of Pi, 1.618, or double of, 6.283, depending on the context you want to use it in. Also, in ancient times, the Greek letter symbolised rebirth, life, and it has an exact opposite in another Greek letter, Th- [He catches himself here and the word brings him to pause.] Theta, which symbolised death.

[Have an embarrassed smile.] I am sorry. I do have a habit of getting carried away. If someone has some knowledge to share, they should. Will you teach also?

[yep just gonna move on here. He stops by a stall with two horses. They both snort and whinny in greeting]

They're saying hello.
