2nd elevator (Voice)
[ Gary has spent the past few days in the clinic, recovering from the wound he arrived with.
He's already pieced together parts of the puzzle...magical castle, abducts people from different worlds, magical journals that people. That part he can totally dig, magic has been one of the cornerstones of his job for the past thirty years.
There's just one part that's bugging him....what's it all for? He's a man who finds randomness uncomfortable. True back home any action could usually be put down to "because it's the gods will" but he likes to know there's a reason behind an action and that everything can be boiled down to a system.]
Ok uh...is this thing on?
[He gives the journal a tap...he's used to talking into some of the most top of the range, high powered communication devices. You'll have to give him a moment to mentally readjust to something so...basic.]
These things aren't exactly the latest phone system or Ipad but I guess it'll do.
Alright...so this magical castle we're in.
Does it have any...you know owners or anything?
[ He asks because part of him needs to know if he's escaped The Ancient One's potential wrath.]

[It was like being drunk...except with lots of bleeding.]
But getting back on topic...can you indulge me with some of these rumours?

Well, there're folks called the First Gens, who've been here for a long time. From what I heard, they used to live here in the castle, but they all took off to live somewhere outside of the Dead Zone. Otherwise, the castle itself's said to be sentient. Like...it's got it's own intelligence and will and stuff. That's why we can wish for stuff, and why losses happen; it's the castle using it's magic to provide for us, and mess with us at the same time.

But I wouldn't put any money on it being purgatory. Besides I always pictured mine to be more fiery...and with more demons.
Unless you're one?
Not that I'm judging of course.

Oh no, I'm not a demon. I'm a mutant. Human born with a special "X" gene that makes me look the way I do, makes me stronger than the average person.

Don't think I caught your name kid?

Oh, I'm Evan. Evan Sabahnur.
[If Gary's up on his ancient Egyptian, he'll notice that "Sabah Nur" translates into "Seven Lights", in a tongue that hasn't been spoken in several thousand years.]

...Any Egyptian blood in your family?
[He is...despite all the technology and secret government funding he's still essentially part of a cult.
A cult dedicated to the ancient ways from all corners of the globe.]

[Meanwhile he's mentally keysmashing. How does he explain his origins to a stranger?]
I'm...umm...sort of a clone of an ancient warlord, who lived during the time of the Pharaohs. En Sabah Nur.
[i.e. he would have probably been locked in a cell under the Cabin, or he would have been in the pit with the Old Ones. En Sabah Nur loosely translates into "The First One".]

[He likes Evan…he does.
It's just quite odd knowing that back home Evan would have just been one of the facilities pets. The only interaction would have been Gary watching him on a monitor and controlling his environment as he savaged five unaware helpless teenagers.]

[Fantomex's intent, as explained to him by Deadpool was the one thing that Evan really clung to. Even though he shared genes with one of the most evil and powerful beings in existence, Evan was given a choice after finding out the truth, and he chose to live as a hero.]

Why do you call it a work in progress? I mean you seem nice enough. Does your body ever kick your ass for going against your genetic makeup?
no subject
Well, it's mostly because I'm so young. The guy who created me didn't intend for me to get woken up so young, so I'm still learning about my powers and stuff.
