Spring Flowers Need a Little Help [ action ]

[ The saying was that 'April showers bring May flowers', but for Ashura that was taking a bit to long. So, he thought he might help it along a little. And he had promised Galadriel that he would show her flowers from his world, plants. Well, why not get a start on it before his promise entirely slipped his mind? And better to get a jump on decorating the rooms before Felix could rightly protest. 

So, dressed in a robe of green, gold, and pink, the patterns that of swirling blossoms and growing trees, Ashura made his way through the lobby of the Castle with a large basket balanced on his hip, bright flowers poking their heads out over the rim and leaving not a few petals behind in his wake - a trail of petals rather than gingerbread crumbs. A portion would go into his chambers, and another portion would go out into the gardens. Certainly it was kept up by some unseen force, but it was nice, taking a small plot for himself to nurture, a left over from his mother, a way to honor her. 

After stopping in his rooms to deposit the flowers he planned to arrange there, he gathered the basket and headed outside to the gardens, finding a clear space to claim. He settled, wishing up the tools of a gardener, arranging the earth with bright flowers the glittered like flame - white, yellow, orange, red, humming to himself as he went about his work, enjoying the chance to not freeze and spend time in sunshine that warmed instead of giving brittle effort. ]

[ooc: catch him walking through the castle halls with his basket of flowers our outside gardening! ]

[Chie was going up the stairs with her gym bag. She yawned as she lazily take her steps up. She turned to see Ashura]

Oh hey, Ashura-san. What's up?

[Legolas was headed outside himself, cloak disposed of in his room and a lighter, dark blue tunic was wished up for himself so that he'd better feel a breeze on his skin. The prince still carried his bow with him and a full quiver, another made and ready in his room so he'd always be armed.]

Busy, are you?

_{[ Ashura smiled at his newest friend, a girl you might say he had taken under his wing a bit. ]}

Oh, gardening. I like to freshen up our rooms when the Spring rolls around.

_{[Ashura's robes, usually with sleeves, was not open down his arms, hooked again down at his wrists. He looked over at Legolas and he smiles brightly, ears shimmering with emeralds, gold, and pink jewels made to mimic nature, his hair knotted with elegant, twisting braids. ]}

Is it so obvious?

_{[ He shifted the basket on his narrow hip. ]}

Okay. I planted vegetables for biology class back then and my plant died. I guess I have the opposite of a green thumb. Haha.

[So many jewels on his ears. It's a wonder he doesn't suffer from the weight of them.]

Just barely. [He grins and finds a place to sit nearby and watch. Maybe even help, if he asks for it. Legolas never was opposed to getting a bit dirty.]

_{[ They were there for more than just show. His ears were sensitive to touch. The jewels helped protect them from that. And by this time? Such finery was second nature to him, hardly felt.]}

I need to work on my subtly then.

_{[He laughed and sat back, reaching for another flower and glancing back at Legolas. ]}

Do you enjoy watching people toil or are you like a puppy and wish to come dig in the soil?

_{[ His mouth was spread in a smile, humor evident in the sparkle of his eyes. ]}

Oh, I think you haven't given yourself credit. You can come with me and help plant and we shall see your good name restored.

Okay! I'll tag along!

You do. [He laughs with Ashura and leaned back where he was sitting, smirk on his face. He could say something smart but it was just too lovely a day to even try. Better to just enjoy it.]

I thought not to intrude more than I already had~

Well, come and intrude. I have more than enough flowers.

_{[ He patted the space beside him and then held out a flower to him, a bright golden one speckled with red and white. ]}

_{[ He laughed and motioned for her to come, climbing up to his chambers and motioning Chiei to come inside, smiling as Agni and Sybil yipped and came to play about his feet as he set the basket on the couch. ]}

Need to drop off some of them here and then we can go out to the garden.

[With a grin, Legolas got up and joined him in the dirt. He carefully took the flower and looked it over, lightly touching it and looking it over.]

It's beautiful. I've never seen a plant like this.

They are from my home world - Shurnao.

_{[ He smiled at him, picking up another deep red one, tracing a petal with his fingers. ]}

I wish I could bring fire-flowers, but they are only on trees. So these shall do.

Could you wish for a tree sprout so that they might grow here? Or would there be a loss?

[In which case, Legolas might be willing to wish for it for him. Someone had to be in proper shape to plant and care of it.]

Perhaps. I had not thought of it. I cannot say if the Castle will see it as a big wish or a small wish.

_{[ He paused in his planting. ]}

But I do miss them, the fire flowers. They bloomed at night, and the edges, in the moonlight? They glow, like tiny campfires up in the trees.

[The elf closed his eyes, imaging how they might look, and a smile crossed his face. He had only what he knew from Middle Earth to go by but it was enough for now.]

I hope that it's possible. It would be a beautiful addition.

[Chie looked around inside the room and whistled, it's a nice room. She saw Agni and Sybil and stared at them for a good few seconds while she remained standing by the door. She's too tired to talk]

It might be, yes. I would hope that I would be here long enough to see it flourish.

_{[ He continued with is planting. ]}

Legend, in my world, says the fire flowers are the tears of a phoenix that once protected my people from a wolf that prowled the skies.

[Legolas finally joins properly, carefully planting the flower he'd been handed.]

Phoenix? I've never heard that word before.

Oh, it is a type of bird - well, a legendary bird anyways. When it dies, it burns its body into ash, and from those ashes it rises again, newborn.

It sounds a bittersweet life for any creature to live. I couldn't imagine it.

Well, legends always say they live full lives, but when it is time for them to die, this is what they do and they are reborn, to live again. It is not quite so sad, when you think upon it - a chance to try again...

_{[ His hands paused a moment, and then he shook his head and continued with his work. ]}

That is good to hear. And you're right, it isn't quite so sad to think of when explained that way.

[He gave the other a smile and gently piled dirt around the flower he'd planted, making sure it wouldn't be washed away by rain.]

It was one of my favorite stories, when I was boy. I always begged my mother to tell it to me before bed, and if I was lucky, my father would tell it to me sometimes.
