[When Thamuris opens up the journal he sounds a bit, well, shaken. Literally in this case.]
I think... the library is mostly intact, but a lot of the books came off the shelves. And a few of the standing ones tipped over against the walls. I'm going to make sure nobody got buried under the books.
Blessed Tetrachs, this is going to take forever to pick up...
[OOC: open for action replies from people in the library, if they want]

Action
[ Duke has this to say about his loss. It seems to make a difference on a hangover-
But he starts carefully shifting about. He's debating if its worth anything more than his dignity to stay on hands and knees so he doesn't step on books... ]

[ It might have been helped by the books falling all over the place.
No he's just going to sit here for the time being. ]
Will fix it in a moment. Are any shelves nearby fallen over?

[ And he rubs at his head, checking to see how much of the ache was from books and how much was from drinking. He'll get a spell working a moment later, working the ache a way. ]
... Your head hurts?

It seems like there are quite a few of us here. But I haven't found anyone badly hurt yet.
[Dictated]
Perhaps we should find somewhere we'll all be safe if there are more aftershocks.

[If he sounds a bit out of it, well. There was a lot of stuff in that room, none of it earthquake-proof. Hangovers and minor head injuries are such a great combination]
[Dictated]
Are you all right?
[Dictated]
[His head hurts like hell, but it had before the room started shaking, so it's hard to tell if that means anything]
Any idea what that was?

Action!
Uh, hey there. I don't mean to bug you, but do you know where all of this goes? [Holds up the book - a volume of old stories and fables. The kind of stuff that's supposed to teach kids good morals and whatnot] Nobody seems too banged up - as far as I know - so I figure I should help pick up a little while I'm here.
Action!
Ah... I think there were at least three different filing systems in here, so I'm... not entirely sure, actually.
Action!
[sighs, and stoops down to pick up more books from the floor, holding them in her arms]
But it's a little late to complain now, though. So! I guess that we should just shove these guys in the nearest shelf, and hope for the best? [Half-joking, there]

Back home, I think each archive had their own filing system - the archivists got dreadfully fussy about it. Though most of those weren't quite this big.
