Twenty Six Spoons {Dictated}

[By all respects, Jane’s birthday in Paradisa had been lovely, especially compared to the drama, sadness, and insanity of what would come at home. She went to sleep worried, though, for it seemed that many of the residents had been struck by the castle’s ire yet again. When she wakes up today, she finds that something feels…off. Slowly, the bedcovers are peeled off, and Jane spots something on her stomach. Something large, and damp, and red – something painfully familiar.

She knows that strange marks are showing up on people, but she doesn’t even think of them. Panic can do that to a girl.]

Is anybody awake?? Oh, God...I’m scared, I’m so scared, there’s blood everywhere!!I don't - I don't think I got hurt but it's everywhere, it's like when I - [There’s a choked sound, followed by a shaky, sniffly breath.] Someone, please…help…!

[EDIT: A little later, after she's figured things out and probably made may of her friends soil their pajamas, she speaks again.]

I'm sorry about before. It seems...the castle has given me one of those stains. It's not really very pleasant to look at. I'll...probably stay in my room for a while.

((OOC: Characters are more than welcome to come bursting into her room if they are so inclined, but be warned – there is a lot of blood.))

[Lemony isn't usually awake this early, but the sound of the distress in her voice coming over the journal rousts him immediately. it doesn't take long for sheer fear and adrenaline to clear the sleep from his mind, and he rolls over to grope for his journal]

Jane?! JANE. It's alright, I'm -- where are you?

[If she had her senses about her she'd ask if you slept with it open and be a little concerned, but sense and Jane is not a thing right now.]

I-In my room...[She tells him exactly where it is, voice shaking.] I-It's not coming off...!

[he hops out of bed, toes on his slippers, and immediately reaches for his bathrobe, not even noticing the tiny black spatters that are appearing on his hands]

I'm on my way.

[cyan_maid]

Thank you...[There is utter relief in her voice. This sort of thing isn't fun to be alone through.]

[Okay, so his best friend is bleeding all over the place. Time to panic? Time to panic.]

J-- Jane! Jane!! N-no-- hang on!

[He doesn't even think about what he could do to help, or that he probably can't do anything; he's already running to her room as fast as his teeny legs can carry him.]

[Thankfully, she's had Lemony come in to calm her down, and she's not as distraught, but she hears you all the same.]

[A few minutes later he's standing just outside her door-- an obstacle that is distressingly and unfortunately pretty insurmountable to him. He knocks on the door as loud as he can, still gasping for breath.]

Jane! Are you okay?! Please, t-tell me you're okay!

Action forever~

[Oh honey you came out all this way? Jane keeps and arm around her middle and goes to her door, opening it just a crack. Don't want to scare him and all.]

I'm okay, Five, I just...I got scared when I woke up, that's all. I'm not a pretty sight.

[And a split second later, a hole will appear in her floor and out hops Bunny. Oh gurl, all that blood. He quickly rushes over]

We need to get you to a clinic.

[There's a shriek at the hole, because she's never seen them in action before, but she comes to her senses soon enough.]

I-I'm not in pain, though-

[Talk about late to the party... Utena's glad that Jane's alright, but she can't help but feel guilty that she couldn't get to her sooner. Still, worrying too much won't help either of them, right? Right]

Don't apologize - I'm just happy that it wasn't anything worse. But...

[What is she supposed to say here? Should she help out? Or should she give her space?]

Do you still need help? If there's anything I can do... well, I still owe you one, you know.

But I stirred up a fright for nothing! If only I'd have kept my head...

...just a few scratches. It-it's nothing to worry about, honest. [Understatement of the year. Her hands look like hell - scratched, dirty, cracked and bleeding. But, there's no need to have anyone else ask worry about it.]

Anyway, don't feel too bad, alright? You aren't the only person freaking out around here. Besides, I'd be a lot more worried if you weren't scared by this.

Near as I can tell from the journal, there's a fair handful. Not everyone, but definitely a lot of us.
