[waking up covered in blood wasn't necessarily a new thing for Dextera. it happened far too often back home that it's more or less stopped bothering him.
waking up with the words 'The Blaze' and 'Sinner' on his arms? well that's a different story. an upsetting story, but a true story. that and he finally realized the blood was coming from places where he had been killed in the past.
sighing, Dextera knew he couldn't stay in his room forever and decided to head to the library for a bit. picking out a book on fairy tales and the best hiding spot he could find, Dextera sat down for some reading and ignoring the words written on his arms.
Dextera hoped that no one would find him but it was kind of hard to ignore the blood trail he had left. he'll apologize for that later.]

He crept in, hoping that he did not ruin the flooring to much, but he could see others had left blood so he felt less concerned for it now. Out of concern, though, he follows the foot steps and frowns when he comes across Dextera.]
Dextera. Are you all right?

but the mute nods despite his 'injuries' and despite the fact that he was trying to make himself look as small as physically possible. that and hide his arms that spelled out - to Dextera - the worst things of himself. given that they're inked on in black, it's a little difficult.]

He approached the young man, resting a hand on his head.]
Good. I just... just good.
[ He was at a loss for words, hurt and lost as anyone else.]

instead he shuts the book he was reading and gets out his journal. that at the very least he didn't mind staining with his blood.]
I'm sorry.
[for the blood he was leaving? for whatever was going on? he knew that he couldn't apologize over something he couldn't control, but Dextera still couldn't help writing the words that were second nature to him at this point.]
no subject
No need to apologize, Dextera.

Feel like I should. Wrong things.
[he can't help but look at his arms when he says that.]
Are you okay?
no subject
And... I suppose, for what it's worth, I forgive you, Dextera.

Thinking hurts sometimes.
[but they were human beings. thinking was something that just happened.]
no subject
Aye, that it does. This makes not thinking of such things harder.
no subject
[because he really wished they didn't have to.]
