This is one Dr. Carson Beckett, sat at his desk, notepad and journal open. There is one distinct difference to the norm, however...

And that is that Carson is asleep. Fast asleep. Anyone with their journals open will hear a very light snoring sound.]

[He knows Peter's been here a long time, and probably working in the clinic for a similar length. It doesn't make sense that he wouldn't know where things are...]

I suppose that's a wee bit essential given that the equipment can change at any time.
