It came to my attention some time ago that Paradisa has no holodecks currently available for use. Since that time, I have researched the construction and maintenance of holodecks. I believe that the process, while time-consuming, is possible in this environment.

A holodeck would allow for an astrometrics holoprogram, which would provide the educational experience of space-based cartography without leaving the planet.

I have met several other beings since arriving, including a Q who met me at some point in the future. These new acquaintances do not replace the memories I have lost, but they are...[And he pauses.] The captain would be pleased.

Construction of a Holographic Environment Simulator (herafter "holodeck") system for the castle will begin shortly. Holodecks provide holographically projected, interactive environments for recreational and educational purposes. Simulations can be run to test new technologies, train users in otherwise unsafe environments, and provide entertainment.

If your skills include expertise in building and maintenance, engineering, programming, force field construction, photon manipulation, or hologrid maintenance, your assistance would be appreciated.

((OOC: Approved by the mods, Icheb is going to start building a holodeck! It's going to take a while--while he's a science genius and good enough with his hands to sculpt a 27-sided polygon without trouble, this isn't something he's tried before. And it's kind of a big project! So he'll probably need help--and it's still probably going to be 2-3 months before it's complete, lol. Keep it on your radar, Paradisa!))

While I have read about the subject, I have no direct experience.

Within the castle, ideally near the other recreational areas. While its first purpose is investigational, the holodeck is most popular for its entertainment value.

Where is your holographic simulation chamber located?

Mine's up in the mountains - a clone of the Danger Room, if you've heard of that, which as its name suggests is a little more combat and training oriented. Hard to get to, and it was damaged in the earthquake, but also a good secure location in case the castle's compromised for any reason. [Is he obviously military yet?]

Having something actually in the castle more peaceful might be nice.

Multiple simulators would be valuable assets to the population at large. Since your 'Danger Room' specializes in combat and physical training, we could focus on writing entertainment and education holoprograms for the holodeck.

If you would be willing to offer your assistance in this project, it would be appreciated. Your prior experience is thus far unique among respondents.

Familiarity with wiring may be useful. The castle's technology is less advanced than that of Voyager and could require modification to the plans.

Under what circumstances have you worked with electrical wiring before?

I'm a radio DJ, but I built all my broadcasting equipment from scratch, both here an' back home. I also know a little bit about spaceship wiring from the Doctor, but ... your Voyager's probably way different than his TARDIS.
