[Filtered away from anyone who would use this information for harm - oh and Nancy and Zeke]
We discovered the impact site of the thing sighted before the earthquake. It looks like it was some sort of ship...that housed insect like humanoids. We don't know who they came from, or who they are- but they attacked us and Terre Haute. We sustained some injuries, but no losses.
[a pause]
The impact site, however, turned out to be next to the base for the Hostile First Generations- the Free People who had stolen some of Tony Stark's Weapon Suits. There were many casualties, I'm afraid. Zeke and Nancy were the only survivors.
If there's anyone out in the Dead Zone who had friends in that faction reading this, I'm sorry for your loss.
[That's all he really has to say. There's too many things up in the air for him to declare anything. He's not even the leader anyway. After he gives the message, he goes to relax near a campfire at camp that night. Timcanpy sits in his lap, looking up in worry about his master. He seems emotionally exhausted- it's been a long trip.]

I mean, maybe if we all got the full stories...we'd understand each other better and would find a way to work together to beat this place.
[..a sigh]
That's probably pretty unlikely, isn't it?

No, that's not true. Some want to make sure they can stay and others want to leave to go home. And others simply want the castle to stop messing with them. Everyone wants something and I have yet to meet a person who wants to keep it exactly how it is.
But none of that's going to happen unless there's a way found to beat this place. Beat it so the choices are given back to us and not some mad building. Find some sort of solution so people have some chance...
And...I don't see how that will happen if we spend all our time fighting amongst ourselves. It's all...stupid.

But yes, welcome to the human race. All fighting amongst yourselves, all the time. Why do you think there isn't any world peace yet? It's just not in human nature.

[Because even trolling wouldn't be a good enough reason for you to give up castle wishes]
I know why there's no world peace. That doesn't mean I can't be frustrated by it.

[Except for the berserk thing. And...pretty much any world change that's effected him personally]
Just so long as you're aware. Honestly, it's admirable, your desire to make everything right. And I know you're not going to listen to an old cynic like me and will just fight for rainbows and whatever for the rest of your life.
...Just don't set yourself up to get hurt.

[a pause before he answers a bit consolingly]
..I'm not a young boy anymore, I know to be careful.
[And that things probably won't turn out as well as he keeps saying they will. That there is no such thing as rainbows and whatever, etc etc]

Yeah, well. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to be reminded.
[Oh wait, this is far too sappy for him, it's bordering too close on feelings. Better fix that]
Because sometimes I think you get hit on the head enough that you can forget.

I haven't been hit on the head in a long time!
no subject
Maybe you got hit so hard you forgot it happened.

Well, I suppose there were some very close calls and parts I don't remember too clearly now in the fight the other day...

I'll make sure to tie myself up tonight so I don't forget and walk off the cliff tonight.
