Okay, so let me get this straight, insect humanoids recently attacked the expedition, right?

Someone please tell me they got some samples from them. Or, at the very least, dragged one back with everything else you got from that place. [A long pause.] Okay, okay, I might have been joking about that last part, but still.

For those of you on the trip, I need to know: what was the tech found on that ship like? Did the humanoids carry any weapons? if so, what were those like? Advanced, simplified, nothing more than a simple gun? Also, samples. Someone please tell me you took biological samples.

I mean, really, the amount of info that people have given so far on these things is just pitiful. I need something to work with, even if I wasn't there to witness it all.

How am I supposed to figure what they are without the proper information for it?

They had advanced weapons that were totally useless in the Dead Zone. As for biological samples, I have't washed my shirt yet?

Well, I can't be the only one who noticed it looked a lot more like a crash than a controlled flight. You ask me, I'd say they were a spacefaring race that got a little too close to orbit and hit the Dead Zone.

A crash? That was smart of them. So much for the existence of intelligent life outside of this world.

They were hostile, though?

Hey, for all we know this place appears normal to scanners. No way to know their engines would go out until they were too close.

And they were definitely hostile. They took out a whole village of First Gens, some of them armed and armored, before we stopped them from getting to the giraffes.

So, they crash-landed and then began to kill everyone without even thinking about it that much? Looks like they had it out for people already even before the crash. You should count yourselves lucky if that's true.

How did they kill people, though, without the use of their weapons?

Sounds like every goddamn alien race we ever encountered at home, so I'm not exactly surprised. We were lucky it wasn't a Flood spore.

They had these sickle-like arms or forelegs or whatever - pretty easy to stab with those. There was also a lot of fire at the settlement. It's possible at least some of that was caused by the crash and they were opportunistic.

May observe your studies? [River is a curious thing and while she's heard a lot of talk, she's not heard a lot of information actually being passe around.]

You could gather accounts of what occurred and compare. Find common factors and use them to aid your analysis when the arrive.
