[There's a slight clearing of the throat, and Garry starts speaking, sounding a bit more serious than usual:]

I, erm...I just wanted to let everyone know something. Recently, a person came in from my world here. Her name is Ib and she's a little girl, nine years old, with red eyes and long brown hair. Some of you have met her already, so you probably know what a really cute, nice girl she is...really brave, too!

[And a slight sigh.] However, despite that, she is here without her parents. I'll be looking after her, but I just want to say that I hope all of you do the same as well...the last thing I want for her is to be scared, alright? She just came from a place which was rather terrifying, and I would know! So the last thing I would want is for things to be repeated here.

So...if you see her around, please be nice to her. If you're not, though...[And his voice grows a bit stern- he MEANS this.] I'll have to have a word with you myself, you hear...?

[And then a long pause, before:]

Hey, does anyone know what they're going to be wearing to the May Day event tomorrow? I haven't decided yet...


ACTION FOR TERRERE TOWER

[If you're just passing by on one of the floors, you might see Garry's room door open, and what seems to be a couple of voices coming from the interior. Peer inside, and you'll see Garry standing in front of a little girl, Ib, holding up a garish blue outfit in his hand to show her what it looks like.]

[He seems quite surprised, based on his tone.]

You don't think that looks good? No? [And he glances at the really strange ensemble he's holding, before looking back at her.] Really??? But I thought...oh, well, if you say so, then I guess this isn't the one...

[Care to interrupt to see what this is all about?]

[OOC: For the action part, both Garry and Ib (bravelittlegirl) will be tagging! Just to let you know. :)]

[Back to the drawing board! He puts it back into his closet, rifling through the others for other possibilities to wear.]

Have you got something to wear, or do you need me to help you with choosing something, Ib?

[Ib thinks about that for a moment, twirling her rose idly between her fingertips.]

I don't know. I wished for some of my clothes, but I don't know if they're fancy enough. [Even what she had on at the gallery was nearly her Sunday best.]

Oh, you found out how the wishing works?

[He strokes his chin.]

Well...hrmmm. You could show me them and I'll decide which one is good enough for tomorrow!

[Pfft Garry she can pick out her own clothes! She is a big girl.]

Yeah, I found out on accident. [And then handwaved the rest of it.] But they're in my room. We still have to pick yours first!

Oh! Oh, well...yes, I found out by accident too. So, I'm not too surprised, really.

Alright, alright, we'll choose something for me first. Hold on...[He thinks.] What color do you think I should go with, first of all?

Umm... [Thinks...] How about purple, to match your hair? No, wait - blue, to match your rose.

Oh! Oh, blue would be nice! I think purple would be too overboard, but blue...

[Now rifling through his closet for blue things!]

Say...if I'm blue for my rose, maybe we can do red for your outfit, too. To match your rose!

Yeah, that sounds good! I'll wear a red dress. That's my favorite color anyway.

Oh, yes! They would really go well with your eye color, for sure. I think that's a splendid idea!

[And...ah! He brings out a blue suit, the fabric textured to look a bit like roses. He had made it a while ago, inspired by his own.]

[Ooh! She moves in for a closer look, holding one of the sleeves out to the side.] Wow... did you make this one?

Oh no. Not a word. Garry, come on, at least try to sound threatening. Even I can do better than that.

[Anyway!] So you've got a kid too, huh? Sure, I'll keep an eye out for her.

[And a pause.] A kid too...? Wait, you have a kid?

Yeah, Ted. He's the one from my future. The one that hangs around me a lot?

[A long pause.]

From your...future? I don't think I've ever met him, no...

Oh. Well, he's here. He's been here a while, too. He's a good kid.

[thehangedrose]

That's good! Is he like your little brother or...wait, if he's from the future...

[A long pause.]

He's not actually your kid, is he?

Given that I spend the rest of my life up until my seventies or eighties completely alone, no. He's just a kid who comes to find me. His grandmother remembers me, apparently.
