So, I've been here a couple of days and I thought it about time that I introduce myself to everyone. My name is Ruby Lucas, but I occasionally go by Red. Before coming here, I used to work in my Granny's diner and I have a few other talents besides. Other than that, I'm not particularly special.

[She pauses think a moment, then a sigh is heard]

I find it fascinating, when people believe themselves not to be unique, or "special" as you claim. Often, the people who believe themselves to be "ordinary" are the most unique.

Of course, this is based upon my own experiences. Others may differ in how they define "special".

I probably should have worded that slightly differently. I should have said that I try not to be special. I allow my friends to be the ones to be noticed.

No, unfortunately. My nickname came from an item of clothing that I used to wear all the time.

Your dress?

No. Actually, it was a hood. A red hood.

[There was a tone of longing in her voice. She misses her cloak, the thought of its loss and the upcoming full moon frightening her]

All the time? It seems a pity to cover such a face as yours.

It was more of a cloak actually. But yes, all time.

Were you afraid they might see you and fall in love only to break their hearts?

[cloaklikeblood]

No. I already had someone anyway. His name was Peter. I wore the hood for another reason, one that I didn't learn until it was too late.

That is a good name.

Why the hood? [ What is being forward? ]

I would rather not talk about it. Not right now, anyway. You'll probably find out soon enough. I'm just...not ready.

How are you holding up? Since it seems you're newish around here, is there anything I can help you with?

I'm holding up pretty good. A little unhappy at being torn away from my home again and surrounded by magic, though.

[Gosh, this is just getting better and better. Months of radio silence, and now--]

This is great! [He catches himself.] Or, well. Not that you're stuck here, but.... If you're gonna be stuck here, it's good to have friends from home.

[She's delighted, utterly so and it comes through in her voice]

It is! Whenever you get the time, you, August, and I should get together for dinner or something and catch up.

Yeah! I have loads I have to tell you. And if you're confused about anything, I can probably help with that, too. I've been here for a while.

How long is a while, Henry? And what's the last thing you remember from Storybrooke?

Uhhh... [Hang on, let him count.] Oh, uh, I guess it's a year, almost. Next month.

[As for Storybrooke...]

Has the curse broken yet, for you?

A year.

[Wow. A year away from everyone? That was...She can't quite wrap her head around it]

Yes. Yes, it has. I remember everything from the Enchanted Forest. Everyone remembers.

[She doesn't sound too thrilled about it. Although she's come to terms with things, she still occasionally misses not remembering everything before the curse]

I'm from before that. Not very much, I think, but I didn't know it'd happened until August told me.
