4th Elevator (Voice)

[ The events of the past few days have had Gary thinking, what with the earthquake and the chaos that followed. He missed his control room. He missed having the ability to push a button, or flick a switch and have the situation in front of him resolve itself.

However the more he thought about it the more he remembered just how big and vast it was....so many different parts that needed monitoring and cataloguing. So many things that needed to be done to successfully complete the ritual.

And that was the point...the room and the ritual was too big for just one person.

There has to be somebody else in there right? Somebody else to help oversee the entire operation. But why was he drawing a blank when he tried to remember this person?

He could remember everyone else...Dr Amy Lin, Officer Daniel Truman, the boys from accounting. They were like his second family after all. So why was it such a chore trying to remember who helped him with the ritual?

He drums his fingers on the desk before speaking.]

So does anybody here ever feel like...I don't know.

[He tries again.]

Does anybody here ever feel like their memories have been tampered with?

I know it's such a strange concept here in the land on rainbows and lollypops but you don't ask you don't get right?

The price all pay when they are brought here. Paradisa itself extracts this fee from us without our consent. One of the many unexplainable, somewhat unsettling things I have discovered in the few days I have been here.

Unfortunately, it is never that simple. The price inflicted on us, as evidenced by those who speak of their losses in the journal, is meant to inflict some form of anguish or doubt on us, or possibly to encourage personal growth in spite of them.

It is difficult to know for sure, as Paradisa itself will not comment on the nature of losses, or why they are inflicted on us.

Affirmative. I am known as Bladewolf. My own loss pertains to a conversation I believe I had not long before arriving here. I do not remember the particulars of the conversation any longer.

My primary directive is to pass on all knowledge I have gathered. Though I was designed for use in combat, I was deemed a failure as a prototype, and have since gained autonomy to establish my own directives.

Something like that, yes. However, my memory is not structured like a Von Neumann computer, having more similarities to a human brain. I had been engaged as reconnaissance assistant before I arrived here, capitalizing on both the stealth field generator built into my frame, as well as my ability to map my surroundings using Soliton radar protocol. Gathering information is a directive carried over from the early days after my creation, where my creators used it as the method to teach me human speech.
