For those of us on the Lewis and Clark, who here is planning to attempt to rescue the others? It might do to have a plan. Anyone with experience in this sort of thing, I'm sure we'd all be glad of your knowledge.

I think you give this place far too much credit if you think it's put us here for a reason. If you'd like a treatise on the medicinal use of various plants, or basic human anatomy, or an omelette, I can give you that, but none of those things helps the people on that other ship.

[He's not actually shouting, but he has snapping points, and his worry about his friends mean he's just about hit one here. He pauses for a moment, and when he speaks again, he sounds a little bit calmer]

I can follow instructions. I can organize people, if necessary. But I don't have any sort of grand plan here.

[that's an awful lot of cheek, at first, and she bristles at it, ready and willing to give him her own share of it back, to insist that this is NOT the place to be bitter and climb onto soap boxes. but then he manages to calm down, and she composes herself. it's NOT the place to discuss philosophy, and it was her fault for even beginning to insinuate it in the first place.
