Not if you're getting murdered in the next day or two. Water won't matter much then, will it?

Then find weapons. You should have done that before holing up.

If you can find alcohol, you can soak a rag in it and put it in a bottle or jar, and you'll have a home-made bomb. Then the lighter will be useful.

I think you're giving a wet rag a little too much credit.

You don't have to use much alcohol, and it will be a contained bomb. Enough to take out a small room, maybe, which will be useful if you need to run, or want to throw it into the hall. Since the walls are metal, there wouldn't be as much debris as normal, and the fire won't spread.

[ Unless you throw it at some electrical equipment in which case have fun with that! ]
