EVENT HORIZON - DAY THREE

[Well, things sure aren't fun for you guys right now, are they? And to make matters worse, some of you have become completely corrupted by the ship, and you've got some crazy new ideas in your heads.

Anyone not corrupted isn't doing that hot either. Not only do you have to deal with your new crazy-face buddies, but you have to deal with your own terrible hallucinations coming at you when you least expect them, and they want you to do terrible, awful things]

[He laughs again, seemingly unworried about her stance]

Funny you should phrase it exactly like that. They're coming for all of us. I knew it was only a matter of time before they found me.

[He closes the gap between them again, getting dangerously close, his lips brushing against her ear almost in a lover's caress to whisper against her skin]

I can make it quick for you. You don't have to suffer.

[She freezes because it's Crowley. She trusts him. He's her ally. Right? But everything about the way he's acting is sending up red flags. She doesn't know if she should fight or run away.]

[Is this ... what North felt like? She feels herself wither at the thought, but Crowley's whisper in her ear causes her to react, staggering a step back and waving her fists around again.]

Don't touch me!

[He almost looks hurt for a moment, before turning his head, ever so slowly to the left, listening to something only he can hear]

I can hear him coming now. I knew they'd send him. I always knew it would be him, one way or the other.[He turns back to look at her] Do you know what he'll do to you if he finds you?

[Crowley shakes his head, folding his arms behind his back, slowly starting to circle her]

He'd make it so very, painfully slow. He'd probably take your skin first. Slice it in strips. Like peeling an apple. Then he'd take your fingers...maybe your eyes. Then he'd start on your insides. He'd take you apart nice and slow, piece by piece but he'd leave your tongue til last. So he could still hear you scream.

[He pauses in his steps to give her a plaintive look]

Don't you want me to save you from that?

[She tries to back herself against a wall, to stop him from his creepy circling, her fists still raised. She hasn't thrown a punch yet, but at this point it's because she's terrified of going near him.]

If by 'save' you mean 'take me someplace he can't find me', but you're not really filling me with a lot of confidence right now.

[Her voice is tight and nervous, and she's starting to look for escape routes.]

[He advances, moving to corner her against that wall, putting his hands either side of her to try and prevent her escape]

No. Nonononono. He'll find you. There's nowhere we can run to. He knows everything. But...but I can end it now. Then he won't be able to take you. You'd be Downstairs...but. But he can't hurt you as bad down there.

[He leans in closer, his eyebrows furrowed above his glasses, his tone desperate]

I can't let him do that to you. Please let me help you.

[South pulls in on herself, hunching her shoulders and curling as much away from him as possible. She doesn't like either of the options he's offering, but she can't see herself getting out of this situation any other way ... unless ...]

[She swallows thickly, then reaches out with shaking hands to place them on his shoulders to steady herself.]

You know ... you know what?

[She tightens her grip and snaps her leg upward in a kick to the groin.]

I think I got this --

[Try to run? Yeah that's a good idea.]

[Which would work just fine if Crowley was in a human body. But he's not, and even without his powers, it doesn't do much damage. He hardly even blinks, not that she can tell under his shades]

It's for your own good, you know.

[His tone is almost gentle as he reaches out, slamming her against the wall again]

You'll thank me later.

[His hands go up, to either side of her head, fingers curling a little into her hair]

You really will.

[Well, fuck.]

[She's really terrified, now, grabbing at his wrists and staring at him, her eyes wide with fear and confusion and no small amount of pleading. She kicks out at him, trying to shove the panic under the training but failing and hitting mostly air.]

Crowely-Crowley! Shitshitshit-- Fucking knock it off!

[Crowley doesn't let her go, he doesn't even seem to hear her pleas. Instead, he'll lean over and press a small kiss on her forehead]

You'll be safe now.

[And with one sharp twist, he snaps her neck]

[There's something about that kiss that frightens South down to her core, that such an intimate gesture could carry with it such a shattering fear.]

[It's the last thought that crosses her mind.]

[Crowley stares at her body for a moment, almost detached, before laying it carefully on the ground and walking off.

He wasn't going to get them get these people. They were HIS people. He fought long and hard to find them, and he wasn't going to give them up now]
