17th card [dictated/action]
[There's a smear of what is very obviously blood as Clow opens the journal, and begins to talk. He sounds... calm. Just like his usual self even.]
Everyone has at least some idea of the power and the beauty in blood - life-blood, heart-blood, what keeps us alive. Makes us walk, makes us talk. Blood-red - we call it that, but I've never seen anything else which quite matches it's hue, it's vibrancy.
[As he talks, he's tracing magical symbols, both Chinese and Western, onto the page, in the blood on his finger tips. They form a rough circle, and he starts connecting them with lines, simpler sigils]
Only mages know the true power blood offers, though - the power to make, the power to break - that lies within every person. With blood -
[There's a sudden jerk, his hand smearing part of the circle he'd been drawing, and his voice changes to angry, and maybe, just a little fearful]
No, I won't let you take me, you monsters. I'd rather die before giving false confession to you
[Clow has found a nice little section of the long hallway to... redecorate. Though it's hard to see the symbols and the circle inscribed on the ground in blood. What is clear, however, is the blood on his hands and the marks he's drawn on his face in it. You can't be sure who's it is, though given that he's carved some of the symbols into his own skin, there's a decent chance, at least, that it's his. He's spending his time shouting at people who aren't there, and... waiting.]

action
What are you attempting to summon with blood? You have no power here.
no subject
Ah, but it's not a circle of summoning. It's a circle of breaking - and I think you'll do nicely.
[One of his bloody hands reaches for Muraki's arm, surprisingly quickly.]

no subject
[Clow reaches for his other arm, trying to keep the man from pulling free]
I'd say it'll be easier if you don't struggle - but the more pain, the more power.
no subject
He reacts by throwing at punch at Clow's pretty little jaw instead]
no subject
[The punch catches him by surprise, though not enough that he lets go of the grip he has on the first arm. When he comes around to face him again, he's still smiling, though it's starting to look decidedly less sane. This one is all fire, it seems - which is just as well. Fire is strength, and strength is power. And he needs that power here, needs it back and in him so he can drive away those that want to kill him, burn him, take that power away for good]
no subject
You will come to regret this.
[Instead of hitting he tugs Clow closer and twists his body, hoping to toss the other man over his shoulder and to the ground]
no subject
Oh, no, I don't think I will.
[He has one hand free, still, and he uses it to reach for the scalpel he tucked into his pocket when he'd finished with his... decorations. The blade isn't long enough to do serious damage, but pain... pain he can do. And pain will make the sacrifice all the more powerful. As Muraki pulls him closer, he takes the grip of the scalpel and drives it into the other man's shoulder]

no subject
[This man is just full of surprises - most would pull away from that kind of pain, but it only drives this man harder. Interesting. A challenge to break. He twists the scalpel now pressed between them as best as he can, and lets go of the other man's arm to bring his now-free hand up to Muraki's face, using how close they are as leverage to push him back, one thumb already dangerously near an eye.]
no subject
Let. Me. Go.
no subject
[Clow smiles his Cheshire-Cat smile, despite the hand at his throat, and uses his elbow to push the other man's arm out, away from him. When the grip is loose enough he can finally speak - ]
Why ever would I want to do that?
no subject
[And maybe he means himself, or the ship, or the magic he's foolishly attempting. Either way, he punctuates that with a sudden kick towards whatever vital region of Clow's body he can reach]
no subject
Oh, but I do. Know, that is.
[The kick makes him spasm in pain, his hold on the knife coming loose for a moment]
no subject
[Dictated]
If you know all of that, you also know it's not worth it.
[He'd be more worried, if they hadn't already established the lack of magic to be had, but still, he sounds more concerned than anything else]
no subject
You would deny me that power? [He doesn't sound quite so angry now, but - definitely a little suspicious]
no subject
But you might not like where it takes you. That sort of magic always has consequences.
[He knows he can't really do a damned thing right now, but maybe if he keeps him talking...]
no subject
But sometimes consequences are worth the reward.
no subject
no subject
And I don't have to listen to you, either. [He's starting to sound a little agitated again] I think you'd rather have the power for yourself, wouldn't you.
no subject
no subject
[There's a short, sharp laugh at that]
You'd never. You're a selfish liar.
no subject
[It's almost painful to be that honest, but anything to keep Clow paying attention, and not doing... whatever the hell it was he was trying to do over there]
no subject
Well, we can't all be cowards. I'll show you.
[And he leaves a mark in blood on the journal after saying that, and then closes it, smudging the half-dried blood.]
dictated
are you okay
Re: dictated
[Back to sounding perfectly normal]
Of course. Why wouldn't I be?
no subject
and the fact that you seem to be drawing with blood
considering that people are going crazy and dying over there
are you going crazy and/or dying
no subject
I really don't know, dear. I mean, how would one tell? I'm fairly certain I'm not dying - I do remember the first experience rather vividly.
[Your boss is too crazy to come to the phone right now, Aradia. Please try again later]
no subject
lets see
are you seeing or hearing anything really disturbing that nobody else seems to see or hear
no subject
A bit hard to test with nobody else around, no?
no subject
how about this then
do you feel like you are the only one thats *not* crazy
no subject
Of course not. I'm three hundred years old; I haven't been mentally stable in decades~
no subject
youve done a pretty good job faking it then
no subject
I try~
no subject
theres enough of that going around as it is
