In the interest of saving you all some time and myself a headache, my name is Dr. Gregory House. I am a board-certified diagnostician with specialties in infectious diseases and nephrology. Since I'm aware most of those words went over most of your heads, I'll simply say that I am overqualified for the job of patching up injuries received in the course of being good-hearted, self-sacrificing idiots.

That said, it is really difficult to patch up the good-heart and self-sacrificing when doctors are the ones being targeted. I understand in video games you need to take the healer out first, but in real life, even an enemy healer is still a healer and can fix you up.

Do try to remember that next time in your killer-ship induced delirium.

[There's a lot of relief in the Once-ler's voice when he sees House in the clinic. Just like Zelos, as much as he has issue with people coming back from the dead, it's very different to talk the talk and walk the walk. When you actually lose someone you care about...well, wanting them back is something you can't help but feel.

Still, he's not stupid enough to gush any feelings at House. That won't get him anywhere, instead, he lets out a soft sigh. The guy's being an asshole, so at least tht means he isn't terminally damaged, right?]

They don't pay you enough.

[Feelings need to stop existing. They make everything complicated and crappy]

I'd ask how you're feeling, but that's a really stupid question. Pretend I said something less neglectful.

Okay. Then I'll pretend you asked me if I had breakfast today and the answer is yes. Waffles with a little Nutella because I felt like spoiling myself.

[Allen was on his way to work when he saw the journal entry. House was back, House was actually back. Allen always tried to treat the deaths here as final. The lessons of being an Exorcist were too hard to scrub away even after all his years here. Death was best to treat as final, don't get your hopes up about people coming back. ]

[Of course, while that made things easier during the grieving process- it sure doesn't fully prepare you for when they do come back. Especially with someone like House, who was more allergic to feelings than vampires were to garlic. ]

[No. Adverse. They were adverse to garlic.]

[He's about five to ten minutes late to his shift, too much trying to make sure to collect his whole feelings on the matter. at least it'll be somewhat successful, soon he'll walk into the clinic doors and when he sees House...instead of crying or having emotions, he'll...instead look closer to an awkward deer in the headlights.]

[Crap. He probably should've thought of something to say huh?]

[ House lifts his gaze from the file in his hands. He eyes Allen before snapping the file shut. ]

You want another trick, it'll cost you extra.

[The file shutting definitely snaps him out of his stare. He should say something in turn shouldn't he? What? Snark back at him? Pretend nothing happened?]

[He tries, but he can't bring himself to. he hasn't killed enough of his emotions to do something like that. He shakes his head]

No, that's quite all right thank you.

[He takes a deep breath and starts moving to...idk, wherever they keep their stuff while on shift]

[ He watches Allen another moment before taking up his cane and retreating to his office. ]

[And he'll be taking his dear sweet time putting away his stuff, all while mentally scolding himself for not having a clue what to do. How to play it up like it's nothing or say the right things or anything like that. Ugh, he really was useless sometimes]

[But finally his bag has been shoved so much into that locker that it's going to take forever to get it out later and he thinks he has it enough under control to head to the office. He's ready, he's really ready this time.]

[And by ready, I mean try to go on like business as usual. In fact have a lame attempt at that]

Do you need to know what's happened in the clinic the past week or do you already know about it?

[Because seriously, you seem to usually know everything]

[Molotov is still in the clinic. Even with Howl's magic and the clinic staff's... adequate care, she need time to heal, since... you know, she literally ripped her body apart.

But her heart leaps when she hears House from her room (of course she and Brock ensured she got her own room. Who would argue with them?), and she's just overwhelmed with joy that his body being left on the ship didn't mean he was gone forever.

Which means House might find a bandaged redhead in a (frankly, not clinic-appropriate) robe running towards him. ]

not the robe, the robe is completely acceptable. ]

Did you fall into a cheese grater?

It is... complicated. I lost a lot of muscle and skin. But I was scared you would not come back, you got left behind.

Yeah, I'm confused about that. Know what happened after I died?

Mm, some of it. You were in the clinic there, and I watched you.

Your bedside manner is already appalling, and you are not even at the bedside. I will forgive you, for the loss and pain you no doubt have suffered.

Yeah, they had a course on that in med school. I paid someone to take it for me.

And was it well worth the coin? Or are you now a renegade doctor, practicing outside the law and with nothing left to fear?
