I have been thinking a lot about the apparent lack of a military or organization that serves for policing or military purposes. After our more recent adventure, I have come to the conclusion that we need some kind of organization during these types of things. We need a group of people to help keep people calm and to get a headcount of sorts. You know, figure out where loved ones are and whether or not they are safe.

Also, if the castle ever falls under attack, we need to know who can fight and who we need to evacuate. In order for that, we need to have evacuation plans and we need to know where we can find weapons in order to defend those that are unable to defend themselves. We can even offer self defense and various weapons classes to those who might be interested.

[There was no fanfare, no friendly greeting or easing anyone into this particular conversation. It's clear that Adam is determined to create this organization and that he has had some sort of experience with some of the instances that he was describing]

I would like to get a list of those who would possibly be interested in participating in this, then work on setting up a meeting to better discuss the details and get a feel for everybody's skill sets and expertise.

But isn't that focused more on the children of the castle? I'm talking about adults. Not whiny bratty little...children.

There used to be a system for the adults, but they let it fall apart. I'm working on something myself to be a one-man system.

What's your thought process in how you are going to make that work, exactly? I thought that the castle would not allow people to get weapons through wishing.

[He knows this from experience. He tried wishing for a sword once and got a big fat nothing]

I wouldn't be wishing for weapons. I'm making up plans that should be specific enough to work with a wish. [She's big into secrets and not sharing her workload.]

That's a pretty fascinating concept.

[He'll just stick with the tried and true methods of not using magic or wishes]

I'm not sure if you can actually come up with something that will be specific enough to work without loopholes by yourself, but if you do, then more power to you.

It'll work. [Her voice is firm and ridiculously confident.]

Organizations have been tried before, but they always end up falling apart because people keep disappearing.

As for evacuation, the current plan is to have volunteers responsible for their own floors. The ballroom is a safe area, but we still don't have a safe out-of-castle location that's big enough to hold the entire population in case we need to leave.

I actually had a meeting about that shortly before we were sent to space. I'm heading Code Blair. It had previously been mostly about kids but I'm trying to expand it to everyone.

Would you mind if I helped you then? I hate to brag, [actually, he loves to brag but rarely about this] but tactics is a talent of mine. Even before my ability manifested, I had a way of doing my jobs without getting my hands dirty and still get all the money.

I'd love the help, honestly. I'm not as much of a tactician, myself. My sisters and I worked together well but organizing a whole group of people isn't really my forte. I'm going to try to get another meeting going soon but maybe we should meet and try to figure some things out beforehand.

Helping others to safety is a specialty of mine. Although I do not not know if I can be of much help.

Then perhaps we should find people who are able to create one. A reinforced area that's easily guarded and able to hold enough supplies to last a while in case of a siege shouldn't be too hard to build.

That sounds like a wonderful idea. We can draw up some basic plans and I can find and study some maps of the castle and surrounding areas so we better know the scale of what we're dealing with.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Lee. My name is Adam. I am actually discussing things with someone right now, but we're going to plan a meeting hopefully sometime in the near future. It'll probably be just figuring out everyone's strengths and weaknesses and going over a few rough draft plans. I'd like to see you there when it happens. I have teamed up with someone who's running a fairly similar operation. Perhaps when we set up a meeting, we'll see you there so we can find out exactly how helpful you can be.

A man named Barton said he was working on something like that, but I haven't heard any progress. I know of a couple smaller safe places myself, but nothing that could hold the whole castle.
