13 DNA Strands - X-Training

[Anyone who happens to come into, or otherwise be in the Gym today will be greeted by an odd sight. Evan is "standing" on one hand, with a pair of basketballs in front of him. One remains stationary, while the other seems to be struggling to get airborne, which it eventually does, and comes to rest on top of the other for a few seconds, before falling off as Evan loses his concentration and falls over, laying on his back on the floor.]

Man, they made it look easy in "The Empire Strikes Back". Guess I should be grateful I can do it at all.

[Now he's just gonna sit cross-legged on the floor, his eyes closed, with a baseball orbiting around him. Feel free to break his concentration either in person, or over the journal, wondering what the hell he's talking about.]

[The baseball suddenly loses whatever was keeping it airborne, and thuds to the floor as Evan hears Blues' voice.]

Oh! Uhh....Telekinesis.

Remember when we had those weird stains on our skin? Well...when I first woke up that morning, I...had sort of a bad reaction to it, heh. Blew up my room and everything. After that though, I noticed something kinda weird. I felt like....this "force" coming out of me. At the time I didn't know...or even really care about what it was, but I've been thinking about it lately, and I realized that it's something I can control, if I concentrate on it. I can move things with my mind!

You weren't the only one.

[He certainly didn't act much better when it came to the stains.]

Just a bundle of different abilities, aren't you?

Yeah, I bet. Don't think anyone made it out of that very well.

Heh, blame my ancestor. His name was "En Sabah Nur", which...translated from ancient Egyptian, means "The First One". From all the reading I did on him, I've...got the genes of the very first, and most powerful mutant in my world.

But they made it out regardless.

"En Sabah Nur." Hm, it has an interesting ring to it. I don't think it's something I'd like to called though.

Yup. Just goes to show how tough everyone is, I think.

Yeah. That's why my Uncle Cluster gave me a name of my own. Didn't want me living under that shadow any more than I already do. God knows I've got enough problems as it is, heh.
